Vacant Podium

The 2022 CrossFit Games runner-up Mal O’Brien revealed on May 16 that she would not compete in the Semifinal stage, ending her 2023 season. That leaves the Individual Women’s division with two vacant slots on the podium from the 2022 Games as six-time Fittest Women on Earth® Tia-Clair Toomey ended her 2023 season at the conclusion of the Quarterfinals due to her pregnancy.

With so much uncertainty heading into the 2023 Games, the stakes of the Semifinals have certainly increased. We’ll see who can capitalize in each contest through June before athletes get two months of recovery before the biggest competition on the 2023 CrossFit Calendar.
