The Fittest Man on Earth® Jeffrey Adler Wished for a Workout on Christmas

December 25, 2023 by Phil Blechman

Coming off a second-place finish behind Pat Vellner at the 2023 Rogue Invitational, reigning CrossFit Games champion Jeffrey Adler is plugging the gaps in his game. His goal in 2024 is to secure a second consecutive Fittest Man on Earth® title at the 2024 CrossFit Games, scheduled for August 8-11 in Fort Worth, TX.

On Dec. 20, 2023, Adler published a video on his YouTube channel wherein he shared his full-day workout programming and gift ideas for CrossFitters. Check it out below:

Workout One

  • Overhead squat
  • Snatch

“I haven’t put 280 [pounds] in an overhead squat over my head for quite a bit, so I’m going to try it,” said Adler before completing the rep comfortably. He added another 20 pounds onto the bar for the next set and performed a paused rep.

Adler revealed that this was his first time snatching heavy since his 2023 Rogue Invitational prep. “At this time of the year, it feels heavier than it’s supposed to, but it went relatively well,” said Adler.

Workout Two

For time: complete 12 rounds with each successive round beginning with the next exercise:

  • Round One — 1x Bar Muscle-Up
  • Round Two — Add 2x Pistol Squat (each leg)
  • Round Three — Add 3x Burpee Pull-Up
  • Round Four — Add 4x Handstand Push-Up
  • Round Five — Add 5x V-Up
  • Round Six — Add 6x Devil Cluster
  • Round Seven — Add 7x Pull-Up
  • Round Eight — Add 8x Dumbbell Snatch
  • Round Nine — Add 9x Box Jump
  • Round 10 — Add 10x Shoulder-to-Overhead — 135 pounds
  • Round 11 — Add 11x Hang Squat Clean — 135 pounds
  • Round 12 — Add 12x Deadlift — 135 pounds

The second workout comprised opened with a single bar muscle-up, two pistol squats on each leg, followed by a bar muscle-up. The third round involved three burpee pull-ups, two pistol squats, and a bar muscle-up. This pattern continued, culminating in the final set with 12 deadlifts all the way down to one bar muscle-up.
