Strongman Robert Oberst Challenges Nick Best To a Fight As Well

The Eddie Hall vs. Hafthor Bjornsson fight may have found an undercard match!

On Tuesday, May 5th during a Q&A that strongman Nick Best held on his YouTube channel, he was asked “Of Brian [Shaw], Eddie [Hall], and Robert [Oberst], who would you find easiest to beat up in a fist fight?” Best chuckled a bit before saying:

“Honestly, I wouldn’t want to get hit by any of them. If I really, really had to pick one of them, I’m probably going to pick Robert. Eddie has had some boxing experience… Brian is just too dang big. Robert, I would probably just hit and run away from.”

Turns out that did not sit well with Robert Oberst who then called out Best and challenged him to a fight on the undercard of the Eddie Hall vs. Hafthor Bjornsson boxing match that was recently announced for September 2021. Check out the Oberst’s challenge and Best’s response (both done on their Instagram pages) via the video below from World’s Strongest Fan’s YouTube Channel:

Oberst wastes no time getting right to the point:

“We all know Eddie is fighting Thor. My question is who’s the prelims? Hey Nick, want to step up? You want to do it? I see you been training with Frank Mir. Maybe he can teach you how to get knocked out. Get at me, Nick.”

Best’s response didn’t take long. After being woken up early morning by his phone blowing up with messages, Best filmed his response to Oberst:

“You spit on me, you give me a hard time, stuff like that, it’s fine. Maybe this an opportunity for me to finally shut you up. So if that’s what you want to do, I’ve been training with Frank a little bit — yeah we can do that.”

The tale of the tape for this would be heavyweight fight favors Oberst. The 6 foot 7 inch tall Oberst stands fives inches taller than Best. Oberst is also sixteen years younger — 35 years old while Best is 51.

Nothing about this potential match between Oberst and Best is official yet other than both men saying they’re willing and able. With a year and a half left to go before the Eddie Hall vs. Hafthor Bjornsson match, we’d have no complaints if the full card were made of strongmen throwing haymakers.
