Rogue Fitness’ monthly fitness challenges have tested the endurance, grip strength, stamina, and heart rates of willing participants. Most recently, the “Pump-N-Row Challenge” featured a combination of the bench press and rowing machine, and saw top tier CrossFit athletes like 2020 CrossFit Games bronze medalist Kari Pearce rise to the top. For the month of May, Rogue Fitness is going to challenge competitors to find their max weight of the following barbell complex they’ve deemed “The Bella Complex”:
The Bella Complex Challenge
- One clean
- One shoulder to overhead
- One front squat
- One shoulder to overhead
The complex must be performed unbroken — meaning all four movements must be done in succession without a break. Competitors will have a five-minute window to score their maximal weight and may make as many attempts within that time frame as they wish. The challenge will start at 9 a.m. EST on May 21, 2021, and last until 8 p.m. EST on May 24, 2021.

The winners will be whoever scores the highest weight in each of the following weight classes:
Men’s Division

For both divisions, each competitor’s weight is considered their body weight plus any clothing and gear they wear during the contest. This includes weightlifting shoes, lifting belts, lifting straps, wrist wraps, and knee sleeves. Of note, gloves, tacky, and lifting suits are not permitted.
As with all of the Rogue Fitness challenges, the video submission must include a visible timer to ensure athletes are performing the barbell complex within the allotted time frame. Additionally, competitors must weigh themselves and the weights they intend to use on a digital scale. Standard barbells for this contest are considered to be either 15.9 kilograms (35 pounds) or 20.4 kilograms (45 pounds).
