2022 Rogue Invitational to Kick Off Thursday With Surprise Event
The 2022 Rogue Invitational will begin Thursday with a surprise event. Multiple athletes competing revealed to Morning Chalk Up that they were notified via email about the new event. Athletes are required to check in Wednesday, Oct. 26.
The competition was originally slated to run from Oct. 28-30 in the Austin, TX area at Dell Diamond, however will now feature four days of competition for the elite individuals. Anikha Greer told Morning Chalk Up the news was unexpected but she’s rolling with it:
- “I mean I’m super pumped about another competition day. More events equals more experience and more fun. We kind of found out a few weeks ago that Thursday would be a competition day, we just had no idea what it is and I guess we won’t until Wednesday, which is also fine, more suspense.”
According to a Rogue spokesperson, “all athletes were notified on September 23, 2022, that Thursday (October 27, 2022) would be an event day with scored competition.”
For the record: In an email sent to competitors on Friday, Oct. 21, Rogue organizers state the following:
- “Please plan for your first briefing to take place on Wednesday at 4:45 pm in the Home Run Dugout at Dell Diamond.”
- “Thursday will be a competition day which includes the first scored event. Details of this event will be briefed during the Wednesday afternoon briefing.”
One athlete also mentioned when they were told two weeks ago to “pack joggers and or trail shoes”.
