22.2 Livestream Numbers Remain Strong, But No Real Improvement
We now have a clear picture of the overall registration for the 2022 Open at almost 300,000 athletes and this is the second week that CrossFit has made an effort to include more of the global CrossFit community in the live announcement.
One big thing: This week, the maximum concurrent number hit 97,339. That’s well above the concurrent views of 21.2 and 21.3.
The details: The 22.2 announcement recorded a maximum concurrent viewership of 97,339 and a total view count (after 24 hours) of 512,155.
How does this compare?:
22.2 | 22.1 | 21.1 | 21.2 | 21.3 | |
Max Concurrent | 97,339 | 84,432 | 81,488 | 95,599 | 93,420 |
Total Views (24 hours) | 512,155 | 538,789 | 475,312 | 526,882 | 589,196 |
- The max concurrent average for the 2021 Open was 90,169, somewhat below the what we saw in 22.2, the trend across the Open last year was for these numbers to increase and it’s important to note that the max concurrent total for 22.1 beat 21.1, and as the trend repeats, we’ve see a higher average.
- The total views per week average for the 2021 Open was 530,463, while total views (after 24 hours) for 22.2 came in at 512,155. A bit below the average, but again, the number increased week over week last year. This year, 22.1 beat 21.1 by 63,477 views or 13.4%.
The big picture: These numbers look solid and represent a trend that is continuing from 2021. We will continue to track viewership through the Open this year.
