Swedish Women Command Europe Leaderboard After Tests 1 and 2
Day 1 for the individuals has concluded at the Europe Semifinal with Individual Tests 1 and 2 done, dusted and tallied. The women’s leaderboard stands with three Swedes comfortably sitting within the top ten.
Emma Tall sits in 1st place overall, after a 10th place finish on Test 1, and after battling for a 1st place finish on Test 2 with 54 burpees. She is one of only two women with two top ten finishes after the first workouts.
- Tall withdrew from Strength In Depth in 2022, and thus did not compete at the 2022 Games. With a 5th place finish at Wodapalooza earlier this year, she is back and vying for one of the qualifying spots this weekend.
In 5th place is Madeleine Persson, after a hard-fought 2nd place on Test 1, and an 18th finish on Test 2. If she qualifies, Persson would be a 2023 Games rookie.
Ella Wunger, currently in 8th place, had a very consistent day with an 11th place finish and a 10th in Test 1 and 2, respectively. Like Persson, Winger would be a 2023 Games rookie, if she qualifies.
The bottom line: The athletes still face five more tests over the next two days. With only 11 qualifying spots, and an extreme strength of field in Berlin this weekend, it will be a fight to the finish to determine who is packing their bags and heading to Madison this summer.
