Mid-Atlantic CrossFit Challenge: What You Need to Know
Entering their 8th year, the Mid Atlantic CrossFit Challenge (MACC) consists of two stages: the online qualifier and the final event, which will be hosted in Washington, D.C.
The Online Qualifier
All athletes will be required to compete in the online qualifier in order to earn a spot at MACC. The qualifier is broken up into two parts:
Individual Online Qualifier:
Week 1: January 2nd – January 7th. 3 Scored Events
Week 2: January 9th – January 14th. 3 Scored Events
Team Online Qualifier:
Week 1: January 23rd – January 28th. 3 Scored Events
Week 2: January 30th – February 4th. 2 Scored Events
Each workout will be announced on Wednesday at 8:00 PM ET, with scores due by the following Monday at 8:00 PM ET.
Individual Online Qualifier: January 2 – January 14
All athletes are required to complete the online qualifier in order to earn a spot at MACC. There will be no invitations given.
There will be a total of six scored events. Only the top 20 male and 20 female athletes will be invited to compete at the main event.
Team Online Qualifier: January 23 – February 4
Like the individual online qualifier, there will be no invitations or exemptions granted. All athletes must perform the qualifier to compete in the main event.
There will be a total of five scored events. Teams will consist of 2 male and 2 female athletes. You DO NOT need to be from the same affiliate, however, unlike other sanctioned events, teams MUST complete these workouts together. These will not be individual events added together to produce your team score; they will be team based events.
The top 40 teams will be invited to compete at MACC.
The Main Event — April 12 – 14, 2019
The Mid Atlantic CrossFit Challenge will take place in Washington, D.C. As a sanctioned event, the top male, female and team will receive an invitation to the 2019 CrossFit Games.
Elite Men — 20 athletes
Elite Women — 20 athletes
Elite Team — 40 teams
RX Team — 40 teams
Scaled Team — 40 teams
