2023 Rogue Invitational Live Results and Leaderboard
The 2023 Rogue Invitational is once again taking place in the Dell Diamond Stadium in Round Rock, TX. Forty athletes — 20 men and 20 women — are competing in the Rogue CrossFit Invitational from Oct. 26-29, 2023, for the second-largest prize purse in the sport behind the CrossFit Games. And 10 strongmen will battle it out for the largest purse in their spot. During that time, BarBend will update this results page to keep fans up to date on event wins and schedule changes.
On Saturday, Oct. 28, the strongman competition wrapped up and crowned Mitchell Hooper the overall winner. The podium was rounded out by Tom Stoltman and Mateusz Kieliszkowski in second and third, respectively.
Come Saturday night, there were still three events to go on Sunday for the CrossFitters, but one thing was clear: six-time CrossFit Games champion Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr had come back from giving birth a few short months ago to win. With one day of competition to go, she sat just five points ahead of defending Games champ Laura Horvath on top of the leaderboard.
Heading into Sunday, Pat Vellner occupied the men’s number one spot on the leaderboard, a full 90 points ahead of defending Games champion Jeff Adler.

CrossFit Event One Recap — “Texas Heavy”
The opening event was a highlight reel for the reigning Fittest Man on Earth® Jeffrey Adler, and the six-time Fittest Woman on Earth® who was never directly defeated for that throne. The women ran “Texas Heavy” first. While it appeared as though the reigning Fittest Woman on Earth® Laura Horvath would steady the lead to an opening event win, she couldn’t hold the pace, and Toomey-Orr emerged victorious for her 11th career event win at the Rogue Invitational.
On the men’s side, it didn’t seem like Adler would manage to mount a comeback over Jelle Hoste’s commanding lead halfway through the event. However, the fatigue of the heavy bag proved too much for Hoste toward the end of the race. Adler maintained a brisk stride in the final run to take the lead by the final sled pull, and the Canadian kicked off the 2023 Rogue Invitational with 100 points. CrossFit Event Two Recap — “Seat at the Bar”
After a long, punishing slog that was Event One, the best CrossFitters in the world were ready to take on a faster (but still very heavy) event. “Seat at the Bar” featured a thick muscle-up log, with a four-inch diameter that challenged the athletes much more than the typical bar muscle-up. While only Emma Lawson completed all 40 reps of this movement during the 2022 Rogue Invitational on the women’s side, a year of practice proved valuable for all competitors this time around.
On the men’s side, Ricky Garard blazed out to a rapid first heat finish, and even Pat Vellner’s speedy performance in the second heat couldn’t knock the Australian out of the overall event win. When it was time for the women to take the floor, Rogue Invitational rookie Alex Gazan blazed her way to a first-place finish, with reigning Fittest Woman on Earth® Laura Horvath coming in second.

At the end of the second event, Toomey-Orr and Horvath were tied with 180 points atop the women’s overall leaderboard. On the men’s end of the competition, reigning Fittest Man on Earth® Jeff Adler, Garard, and 2022 Rogue Invitational silver medalist Chandler Smith were all tied up for first place with 165 points each.

CrossFit Event Three Recap — “The Circus”
It was anyone’s leaderboard as the athletes waited hours for the final event of the first full day of competition to begin. At the start of this event, the men had a three-way tie for first between Adler, Smith, and Garard, while the women were tied between Toomey-Orr and Horvath for first-place points. By the end of “The Circus,” which had athletes coping with ski ergs, Cyr dumbbells, and a very slick Killer Cage due to wet conditions, Roman Khrennikov had climbed his way to the edge of the monkey bars and the top of the men’s overall leaderboard.
And while Horvath and Dani Speegle both blazed through the event in their respective heats, Horvath ultimately came out on top of both the event and the leaderboard. Toomey-Orr came back from a seventh-place position in the second heat to a second-place event finish overall, leading to a mere five-point differential between the top women athletes heading into Saturday’s events.

CrossFit Event Four Recap — “10th Inning”
Once again, Toomey-Orr demonstrated that she did not show up to Texas to merely participate. She came to dominate. And with defending Games champ Laura Horvath falling behind in this event, Toomey-Orr took full advantage. She blazed to a powerful first-place finish in the event, gracing the top of the leaderboard once again. For her part, Arielle Loewen gave herself a birthday gift with a heat one win that would prove good enough to earn her third place in the event overall.
On the men’s side, it was the Noah Ohlsen show. He came out strong early, but he and the other leading men seemed to have learned a lesson from Toomey-Orr. Like her, they all broke up their sets of power snatches, meaning they could maintain a stronger pace with less fatigue throughout the grueling 10 rounds of this workout. Ohlsen maintained his pace with the most grace of them all, coming in for a commanding event win. And by securing himself fourth place, Pat Vellner found his way at the top of the overall leaderboard, with Ohlsen behind him in second.

CrossFit Event Eight Recap — “Big Cat”
The rain continued to pour down on Dell Diamond, but it didn’t put a damper on the excitement. If anything, it added an extra element of skill to the mix, as athletes had to face down a total handstand walk the length of a football field during the penultimate event of the weekend.
Danielle Brandon won her heat in convincing fashion, charging fast out of the gate and never looking back. In the second women’s heat, Toomey-Orr came out with a vengeance and didn’t let it go, taking home the heat win and second in the overall event. The men saw an impressive performance out of Victor Hoffer, who opted not to deadlift in the max event last night but still showed up today to prove his skill.

2023 Rogue Invitational Strongman Leaderboard
Rogue’s Strongman competition began on Friday, Oct. 27, at noon CDT. By Saturday evening, Mitchell Hooper was crowned the overall champion after five events. Hooper’s consistency dominated the weekend — he never finished worse than fourth place in any event and ranked second three times en route to gold.
- Mitchell Hooper (Canada) — 42 points
- Tom Stoltman (UK) —40 points
- Mateusz Kieliszkowski (Poland) — 31.5 points
- Evan Singleton (USA) — 28.5 points
- Bobby Thompson (USA) — 22.5 points
- Maxime Boudreault (Canada) — 23.5 points
- Thomas Evans (USA) — 23 points
- Luke Stoltman (UK) — 22 points
- Oleksii Novikov (Ukraine) — 21.5 points
- Trey Mitchell (USA) — 11.5 points — withdrew
2023 Rogue Invitational Strongman Event One Results — “Tower of Power”
- 900-pound deadlift for reps
60-second time cap.
- Trey Mitchell — Eight reps
- Bobby Thompson — Eight reps
- Mitchell Hooper — Seven reps
- Oleksii Novikov — Six reps
- Tom Stoltman — Four reps
- Thomas Evans — Three reps
- Evan Singleton — Two reps
- Luke Stoltman — One rep
- Maxime Boudreault — no lift
- Mateusz Kieliszkowski — no lift
Strongman Event One Recap— “Tower of Power”
The difficulty of the partial deadlift with three three-pound barrels underneath a platform attached to a barbell proved difficult for many of the strongmen. In an unusual twist, the athlete earlier in the turn order had more fruitful turns, with defending champion Oleksii Novikov and Mitchell Hooper scoring two of the top three results. Novikov pulled six reps, Hooper pulled seven, but Trey Mitchell’s eight reps secured the top score in event one.

2023 Rogue Invitational Strongman Event Two Results — “Iron Bull”
- Mateusz Kieliszkowski — 42.54 seconds
- Mitchell Hooper — CAP + 161
- Evan Singleton — CAP + 170
- Luke Stoltman — CAP + 194
- Maxime Boudreault — CAP + 225
- Tom Stoltman — CAP + 322
- Oleksii Novikov — CAP + 335
- Thomas Evans — CAP + 348
- Trey Mitchell — CAP + 401
- Bobby Thompson — CAP + 480
Strongman Event Two Recap — “Iron Bull”
The never-before-used Iron Bull weighed 1,000 pounds. Unlike a typical truck pull that allows momentum to be carried through the entire course, the Iron Bull offered no such grace. As a result, only Kieliszkowski traversed all 50 feet and racked up the much-needed 10 points.
Check out our full Event Two recap here.
2023 Rogue Invitational Strongman Event Three Results — “Rogue-a-Coaster”
For time:
- 600-pound seated incline rope pull — 54 inches
90-second time cap.
- Mateusz Kieliszkowski — 29.79 seconds
- Tom Stoltman — 34.79 seconds
- Evan Singleton — 35.75 seconds
- Mitchell Hooper — 38.41 seconds
- Oleksii Novikov — 42.05 seconds
- Thomas Evans — 44.43 seconds
- Maxime Boudreault — 44.49 seconds
- Bobby Thompson — 49.29 seconds
- Luke Stoltman — CAP + 48
- Trey Mitchell — withdrew
Unfortunately, Trey Mitchell withdrew from the competition after collapsing on Day One during his Iron Bull run. What looked like a faint from an extreme effort resulted in a torn Achilles tendon. No additional updates regarding Mitchell’s injury were given. The Rogue-a-Coaster event was again a showcase for Kieliszkowski, who set a world record time of sub-30 seconds, beating the fastest time from 2022, set by Martins Licis. Kieliszkowski is the only athlete to ever complete this event in under 30 seconds.
Check out our full Event Three recap here.
2023 Rogue Invitational Strongman Event Four Results — “Max Log Lift”
Max reps in 90 seconds:
- Log Press — 360 pounds
Below are the results:
- Tom Stoltman — 10 reps
- Mitchell Hooper — Nine reps
- Thomas Evans — Eight reps
- Bobby Thompson — Eight reps
- Luke Stoltman — Eight reps
- Mateusz Kieliszkowski — Seven reps
- Maxime Boudreault — Seven reps
- Oleksii Novikov — Five reps
- Evan Singleton — Five reps
- Trey Mitchell — withdrew
This event was the Tom Stoltman show. He was the penultimate athlete to lift and he annihilated the pace and secured a clean win to push him into top podium contention with one event remaining. Hooper lifted last and knew that if he could eclipse eight reps, he would have a secure lead to clinch the title heading into the last event, and that’s exactly what he did.
Check out our full Event Four recap here.
2023 Rogue Invitational Strongman Event Five Results — “The Duel”
For time:
- Load three sandbags — 325, 350, and 375 pounds
Here are the results.
- Tom Stoltman — 0:17.57
- Mitchell Hooper — 0:17.84
- Maxime Boudreault — 0:18.83
- Mateusz Kieliszkowski — 0:19.63
- Evan Singleton — 0:20.55
- Bobby Thompson — 0:20.81
- Thomas Evans — 0:20.94
- Luke Stoltman — 0:22.35
- Oleksii Novikov — 0:23.38
- Trey Mitchell — withdrew
Hooper finished the event with a rare show of exhilaration, as he was fairly certain that the blink-and-you-miss-it duel fell in his favor. And sure enough, he was soon thereafter crowned the Rogue Invitational strongman champion, with Tom Stoltman coming in second for the second year in a row.

CrossFit Event Five Recap — “The Duel III”
After five grueling, incredibly fast rounds, all with multiple heats, four total athletes competed head-to-head in their respective divisions. Laura Horvath faced down Dani Speegle (who had never lost a qualifying heat), and Brent Fikowski had a show down with Jayson Hopper (who had never lost any of his heats, either). In the end, Speegle and Hopper ran faster races, each earning an exhilarating W in their respective races.
Since Toomey-Orr and a host of leading men (including Khrennikov and Adler) didn’t qualify to the final rounds, the leaderboards in both divisions saw a lot of shake-ups. Horvath was able to carve out a huge chunk of Toomey-Orr’s lead, and Vellner made his way all the way to the top of the leaderboard, followed closely by Fikowki and Gudmundsson.

CrossFit Event Six Recap — “Max Deadlift”
The night was long but the athletes seemingly did not tire in Dell Diamond on Saturday night. The women hefted their weights under a setting sun before the men got their turn under the stadium lights, and both divisions put on a show. Athletes lifted four at a time to start, and as the weights went up and the field dwindled, competitors eventually lifted on just two platforms side by side and then (when there were only five lifters left to go) one by one on center stage.
For the women, it came down to a battle between Gazan, Speegle, Horvath, Toomey-Orr, and Milligan. In the end, it was Gazan who stood up the heaviest weight, locking out 425 for a convincing event victory. For the men, the final five were Smith, Vellner, Magda, Hopper, and Crouch. Smith would lift the heaviest weight, not once, but twice. After being retroactively declared winner when Vellner failed to pull 605 (which Smith had already locked out), Smith was ready to give the crowd a victory lap. He successfully hefted 610 before calling it a night.

CrossFit Event Seven Recap — “Hulk Hands”
Heavy rain made “Hulk Hands” a bit different than it was originally programmed to be. Out were the front-rack walking lunges and in were stationary lunges with the new implement, the Fatbells. But even steady downpours didn’t deter athletes from putting on their game faces. Ohlsen and Khrennikov, at Horvath’s encouragement, also let their inner children come out, sliding and hydroplaning down the hill as part of their impressive event finishes.
For her part, Horvath dominated the event on the women’s side, leaving no question in anyone’s mind whose event this had been to lose. The race was a little tighter between the men’s heats, with Khrennikov and Pepper competing across heats for the top one and two slots. With her victory, Horvath gained 15 points on the overall leaderboard on Toomey-Orr, clawing back from a five-point deficit. On the men’s side, with less than 50 points separating the podium and top 10 competitors, Event Seven was where necessary separation started to occur.

- Tom Stoltman (UK) —40 points
- Mateusz Kieliszkowski (Poland) — 31.5 points
- Evan Singleton (USA) — 28.5 points
- Bobby Thompson (USA) — 22.5 points
- Maxime Boudreault (Canada) — 23.5 points
- Thomas Evans (USA) — 23 points
- Luke Stoltman (UK) — 22 points
- Oleksii Novikov (Ukraine) — 21.5 points
- Trey Mitchell (USA) — 11.5 points — withdrew
2023 Rogue Invitational Strongman Event One Results — “Tower of Power”
- 900-pound deadlift for reps
60-second time cap.
- Trey Mitchell — Eight reps
- Bobby Thompson — Eight reps
- Mitchell Hooper — Seven reps
- Oleksii Novikov — Six reps
- Tom Stoltman — Four reps
- Thomas Evans — Three reps
- Evan Singleton — Two reps
- Luke Stoltman — One rep
- Maxime Boudreault — no lift
- Mateusz Kieliszkowski — no lift
Strongman Event One Recap— “Tower of Power”
The difficulty of the partial deadlift with three three-pound barrels underneath a platform attached to a barbell proved difficult for many of the strongmen. In an unusual twist, the athlete earlier in the turn order had more fruitful turns, with defending champion Oleksii Novikov and Mitchell Hooper scoring two of the top three results. Novikov pulled six reps, Hooper pulled seven, but Trey Mitchell’s eight reps secured the top score in event one.
Check out our full Event One recap here.
2023 Rogue Invitational Strongman Event Two Results — “Iron Bull”
- Mateusz Kieliszkowski — 42.54 seconds
- Mitchell Hooper — CAP + 161
- Evan Singleton — CAP + 170
- Luke Stoltman — CAP + 194
- Maxime Boudreault — CAP + 225
- Tom Stoltman — CAP + 322
- Oleksii Novikov — CAP + 335
- Thomas Evans — CAP + 348
- Trey Mitchell — CAP + 401
- Bobby Thompson — CAP + 480
Strongman Event Two Recap — “Iron Bull”
The never-before-used Iron Bull weighed 1,000 pounds. Unlike a typical truck pull that allows momentum to be carried through the entire course, the Iron Bull offered no such grace. As a result, only Kieliszkowski traversed all 50 feet and racked up the much-needed 10 points.
Check out our full Event Two recap here.
2023 Rogue Invitational Strongman Event Three Results — “Rogue-a-Coaster”
For time:
- 600-pound seated incline rope pull — 54 inches
90-second time cap.
- Mateusz Kieliszkowski — 29.79 seconds
- Tom Stoltman — 34.79 seconds
- Evan Singleton — 35.75 seconds
- Mitchell Hooper — 38.41 seconds
- Oleksii Novikov — 42.05 seconds
- Thomas Evans — 44.43 seconds
- Maxime Boudreault — 44.49 seconds
- Bobby Thompson — 49.29 seconds
- Luke Stoltman — CAP + 48
- Trey Mitchell — withdrew
Unfortunately, Trey Mitchell withdrew from the competition after collapsing on Day One during his Iron Bull run. What looked like a faint from an extreme effort resulted in a torn Achilles tendon. No additional updates regarding Mitchell’s injury were given. The Rogue-a-Coaster event was again a showcase for Kieliszkowski, who set a world record time of sub-30 seconds, beating the fastest time from 2022, set by Martins Licis. Kieliszkowski is the only athlete to ever complete this event in under 30 seconds.
Check out our full Event Three recap here.
2023 Rogue Invitational Strongman Event Four Results — “Max Log Lift”
Max reps in 90 seconds:
- Log Press — 360 pounds
Below are the results:
- Tom Stoltman — 10 reps
- Mitchell Hooper — Nine reps
- Thomas Evans — Eight reps
- Bobby Thompson — Eight reps
- Luke Stoltman — Eight reps
- Mateusz Kieliszkowski — Seven reps
- Maxime Boudreault — Seven reps
- Oleksii Novikov — Five reps
- Evan Singleton — Five reps
- Trey Mitchell — withdrew
This event was the Tom Stoltman show. He was the penultimate athlete to lift and he annihilated the pace and secured a clean win to push him into top podium contention with one event remaining. Hooper lifted last and knew that if he could eclipse eight reps, he would have a secure lead to clinch the title heading into the last event, and that’s exactly what he did.
Check out our full Event Four recap here.
2023 Rogue Invitational Strongman Event Five Results — “The Duel”
For time:
- Load three sandbags — 325, 350, and 375 pounds
Here are the results.
- Tom Stoltman — 0:17.57
- Mitchell Hooper — 0:17.84
- Maxime Boudreault — 0:18.83
- Mateusz Kieliszkowski — 0:19.63
- Evan Singleton — 0:20.55
- Bobby Thompson — 0:20.81
- Thomas Evans — 0:20.94
- Luke Stoltman — 0:22.35
- Oleksii Novikov — 0:23.38
- Trey Mitchell — withdrew
Hooper finished the event with a rare show of exhilaration, as he was fairly certain that the blink-and-you-miss-it duel fell in his favor. And sure enough, he was soon thereafter crowned the Rogue Invitational strongman champion, with Tom Stoltman coming in second for the second year in a row.
