2024 CrossFit Games Age Group Semifinals Workout Descriptions and Who to Watch

May 8, 2024 by Scott Freymond

For the first time in the Quarterfinals era, the Age Group athletes tackled the same workouts as the Individuals.

  • The top 200 in each division will continue their season with the online Age Group Semifinals, running from May 8-13.

Remind me: This year, the age groups will have their own CrossFit Games separate from individuals, hosted by Legends and Pit Teen Throwdown. Between 10 and 40 athletes per division will move on to their championship event at the end of August.

  • Check here for more details on Semifinal video submission and scoring. And, for easy reference, here is the 2024 CrossFit Games Competition Rulebook.

Notable Athletes Heading Into Semifinals

A few notable athletes qualified for both the Age Group and Individual Semifinals, keeping their opportunities to compete at the CrossFit Games in Fort Worth and the Masters Games in Birmingham alive.

  • Bronislaw Olenkowicz won the 35-39 men’s division and finished 13th in Europe for Individuals.

In the same division, Will Moorad finished second, scoring 20th in North America East.

Sam Dancer placed sixth in his age group and 15th in North America West for Individuals. He’s on a quest to be the oldest man at the Crossfit Games this year.

  • Ruan Duvenage finished fifth in his age bracket and second overall in Africa, making him the only athlete to finish higher as an Individual than Age Group.
