Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr Strikes Again: 2023 Rogue Invitational CrossFit Event 4 “10th Inning” Results
The second full day of competition at the 2023 Rogue Invitational saw schedule changes galore, as massive rain delays on Friday, Oct. 27, eventually forced the cancellation of a strongman event. But CrossFit had been able to safely continue in the rain, with athletes facing off in “The Circus” on Friday night. The battle continued on the CrossFit side of the weekend relatively unaffected, starting with Event Four, “10th Inning.” Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr and Noah Ohlsen won the event in style.
The six-time Fittest Woman on Earth® took home her second event victory of the weekend, just a few months after giving birth in May. She blazed a steady, strong pace through the 240 reps required of athletes by “10th Inning.”
For his part, Noah Ohlsen took home his first event win at the Invitational, rendering him a “happy puppy” (his words in his post-event interview on the field) and putting on a show for the fans.

2023 Rogue Invitational CrossFit Event Four — “10th Inning” Recap
The women took the field first for this 10-round battle.
Women’s Division, Heat One
Arielle Loewen, Danielle Brandon, and Manon Angonese were the first through their ring muscle-ups, handstand push-ups, and power snatches, leading the pack. Loewen continued to command the lead until she was caught by Angonese, who traded the lead with her for a few rounds.
Toward the end of the workout, Loewen proved too fast, crossing the finish line on her lonesome for the heat win. Angonese finished soon after, giving herself second in the heat.

Women’s Division, Heat Two
The second heat saw the top 10 women going head to head. Emma Cary came out of the gate quickly, starting at a rapid pace alongside Toomey-Orr and 2023 CrossFit Games silver medalist Emma Lawson. On her end, Toomey-Orr decided to break up her sets of power snatches to keep her heart rate and fatigue lower. She worked largely in unison with Lawson until a no-rep on the handstand push-up pushed Lawson behind, with Toomey pulling far ahead of Lawson and Cary to finish out with the eventual event win.
For her part, Gabriela Migala started out making steady work of all her reps, maintaining a pace that would allow her to continue the kind of quietly consistent performance that is landing her squarely in podium contention for the weekend overall. However, she ultimately hit the time cap, leading to her first finish outside of the top 10 this weekend.
Men’s Division, Heat One
Victor Hoffer, Will Moorad, and Tudor Magda blazed out of the proverbial gate, all seeming to learn from Toomey-Orr’s performance and breaking up their power snatches conservatively. Hoffer and Magda were facing off rep-for-rep to start their third round, largely lifting in a synchronized fashion. But Magda fell way behind as the event went on.
Hoffer was best able to sustain the pace he set, though he seemed to slow and allow Jay Crouch to start catching up later in the event. Lazar Đukić was also able to sneak up to start closing that gap. Hoffer held on to his lead and finished first in his heat, followed by Crouch, then Đukić.
Men’s Division, Heat Two
Noah Ohlsen, Ricky Garard, and Pat Vellner led the pack to the barbell on the first of 10 rounds as Jeff Adler and Roman Khrennikob were moving nearly synchronously. As the work continued, Björgvin Karl Gudmundsson and Chandler Smith also went roughly rep for rep.
Around the event’s halfway mark, the lead became a battle between Vellner and Ohlsen. Efficiency and strength on gymnastics moves like muscle-ups are second nature to both athletes, and Ohlsen was able to maintain quite a strong pace throughout the workout, earning himself the overall event win.
Toward the very end of the workout, Gudmundsson overtook Vellner for second. Still, Vellner gained points on the overall leaderboard that would position him as the competition leader.
