2023 Fittest Woman on Earth® Laura Horvath (76KG) Wins 2023 Hungarian Weightlifting National Championship
The 2023 Fittest Woman on Earth® and 2023 Rogue Invitational champion, Laura Horvath, was dominant throughout the 2023 season. In addition to claiming her first CrossFit Games title and successfully defending her Rogue Invitational throne, Horvath took her Olympic weightlifting talents to her home country of Hungary to compete in the 2023 Hungarian Weightlifting National Championships (HWNC) on Nov. 19, 2023, in the 76-kilogram weight class.

- 91 kilograms (200.6 pounds)
- 95 kilograms (209.4 pounds)
- Clean & Jerk

Horvath locked out all three of her snatch attempts without issue. Her first clean & jerk attempt of 114 kilograms was met with three red lights from the judges as her left arm bent and not deemed a successful lockout. She recovered as well as she could, increasing the weight to match the Hungarian National Record of 117 kilograms, set by Horvath in March 2023, and hitting it.
Horvath furthered the Hungarian national clean & jerk record by an additional three kilograms on her final attempt, rewriting the Hungarian record books alongside her gold-medal performance. For reference, the world record clean & jerk in the Women’s 76-kilogram weight class is Wangli Zhang of China’s 156-kilogram (343.9-pound) lift from February 2019.
Horvath is expected to compete next at the start of the 2024 CrossFit season via the 2024 CrossFit Open, scheduled to begin on Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024. Assuming she stays healthy, Horvath will almost assuredly return to the 2024 CrossFit Games to defend her title against former six-time Fittest Woman on Earth® Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr, who will have had a full off-season of training to return to form following the birth of her daughter.
