How to Watch the 2021 CrossFit Games Semifinals

May 24, 2021 by Andrew Gutman

Fans and athletes are one step closer to the ultimate competition in CrossFit. On May 28, the four-week-long Semifinals will kick-off to decide who the 38 men, women, and teams (plus two more men and women from the Last-Chance Qualifier) headed to the 2021 NOBULL CrossFit Games are. On May 24, 2021, CrossFit HQ officially announced how fans can watch each of the 10 Semifinal events.

Five of the Semifinal contests will be held virtually — due to COVID-19 restrictions — and the other five will be held live. Here are the number of athletes, based on continent, who will compete in the Semifinals:

  • North America: The top 120 men and women and 80 teams (30 men, 30 women, and 20 teams in each of the four Semifinals).
  • Europe: The top 60 men and women and 40 teams (30 men, 30 women, and 20 teams in each of the two Semifinals)
  • Asia, Africa, South America, and Oceania: The top 30 men and women and 20 teams, respectively.

On to the 2021 CrossFit Games

There will also be a Last-Chance Qualifier held from June 28 to July 4, 2021, where two more men and two more women will advance to the Games. In total, 40 men, 40 women, and 38 teams will compete for the title of Fittest on Earth®. Also, CrossFit announced on May 5, 2021, that the top five men and top five women from the Open in three adaptive divisions — Upper Extremity, Lower Extremity, and Neuromuscular — will compete in the Games.

Currently, the seedings are out for the athletes competing in the Semifinals. After the Semis wrap, the Games will take place in Madison, WI, from July 27 through August 1. Of course, the location and dates may change due to COVID-19 restrictions.
