2022 Strongman Champions League England Results — Aivars Šmaukstelis Wears the Crown

Šmaukstelis bested 13 other strongmen across five events to emerge victorious.

The 2022 Strongman Champions League (SCL) England competition took place on Aug. 20, 2022, in Gloucester, England. The single-day contest featured 13 of the world’s top strongmen competing across five events: the Viking Walk, Log Lift, Farmer’s Walk, Deadlift Ladder, and Atlas Stones.

Aivars Šmaukstelis never finished lower than fifth in any event, and his consistency was rewarded with the top position on the podium. Check out the full results below:

Viking Walk

The Viking Walk challenged the strongmen to carry a 300-kilogram log for distance. Pakulski was just shy of 40 meters, but had plenty of room between him and runner-up Šmaukstelis.

Log Lift

The Log Lift was for reps with a 140-kilogram log. Šmaukstelis’ overhead strength was on display as he scored nine reps for first place points. Bilton was a rep short of tying him.

Farmer’s Walk

The Farmer’s Walk involved 150-kilogram implements and a 40-meter course. Each strongman was given a max of 75 seconds to traverse that course in the fastest time possible.

Deadlift Ladder

Each athlete had 90 seconds to complete the Deadlift Ladder, consisting of four lifts. The first lift was 220 kilograms; each lift increased in weight until the final barbell of 380 kilograms.

Paul Smith scored his second consecutive event win, completing all four lifts in just under 27 seconds.

Atlas Stones

The Atlas Stones event was a five-implement race for time. Louis Jack was dominant in this event as the lone strongman to load all five stones in under 40 seconds. Šmaukstelis was the only other strongman to load all five stones.
