Tia-Clair Toomey Wins Sixth CrossFit Games Title, Becomes the Winningest Individual Athlete of All Time
She’s done it. Tia-Clair Toomey has won her sixth CrossFit Games, making her the winningest Individual athlete of all time at just 29 years old.
With her victory at the 2022 CrossFit Games, the Australian athlete has officially exceeded her former training partner (and CrossFit Games GOAT in his own right) Mat Fraser, who retired in February 2021 after securing five Games titles himself.

Toomey made her Games debut in 2015, finishing in an impressive second place. She placed second one more time the following year and then began what is now regarded as the most dominant Individual Women’s reign in CrossFit Games history.

As if being the six-time Fittest Woman on Earth® wasn’t impressive enough, Toomey is also an accomplished weightlifter. In 2018, Toomey won gold at the Commonwealth Games in the 58-kilogram weight class. She also represented Australia in weightlifting at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
Leading up to the 2022 Winter Olympics, she made a run at the Games in another sport — bobsledding. Ultimately, Toomey wasn’t chosen for Australia’s Olympic team, but she did help her country qualify.
Tia-Clair Toomey’s 2022 CrossFit Games Performance
Toomey got off to an uncharacteristic start, not donning the leader jersey until Day Three of the Games. She trailed 2021 Rookie of the Year Mal O’Brien after getting tripped up in Event Three, finishing 23rd for the second-worst Games event finish of her career.
But by the fourth day of the Games, Toomey returned in force and reminded everyone why she has as many Games titles as she does. She kicked things into high gear and dominated the remainder of the weekend, ultimately bringing home another first-place overall finish.
