2022 CrossFit Open Workouts

Each week during the Open, BarBend will update this article with the complete Rx’d workouts.

22.1

15-minute AMRAP of the following triplet:

  • Three wall walks
  • 12 dumbbell snatches — Men: 50 pounds | Women: 35 pounds
  • 15 box jump-overs — Men: 24-inch box | Women: 35-inch box

Scores are tabulated by the total number of repetitions within the 15-minute time cap. A new movement standard is implemented for the box jump-overs: athletes must deliberately step down off the box each rep; jumping off to rebound back up is disallowed.

Open Workout Matchups

Open workout 22.1 will feature 2022 Wodapalooza champion Patrick Vellner going head-to-head with 2022 Wodapalooza team champion Noah Ohlsen on the men’s side and Danielle Brandon and 2022 Wodapalooza runner-up Bethany Shadburne square off on the women’s side.

Workout 22.2 will see reigning Fittest Man on Earth® Justin Medeiros compete against Saxon Panchik, neither of whom is no stranger to the environment. Both Medeiros and Panchik competed during live Open workout announcements in 2021. Medeiros bested 2020 CrossFit Games runner-up Samuel Kwant in workout 21.2. Panchik competed against his brothers, Scott Panchik and Spencer Panchik, in the announcement of workout 21.3. For the women, 2021 Dubai CrossFit Championships winner Laura Horvath will take on 2021 CrossFit Games champion (Girls 16-17) Emma Lawson.

The competitors for the live announcement of workout 22.3 have not been announced at the time of this article’s publication.
