Social Media Manager:

BarBend is seeking a part-time Social Media Manager to grow and curate our audiences across key social media platforms. The Social Media Manager will prepare and post (including pre-scheduling) to a range of social platforms and use data analytics to optimize posting type and schedule. This person will work closely with both editorial and creative (video, audio, graphics) teams to create bespoke content for social while also sharing out BarBend’s native content. Crucially, this person will be responsible for analyzing performance on social platforms to better optimize positing type, schedule, and cadence. 

This role is a great opportunity to work with multiple departments on our team; it includes the possibility of expanded editorial responsibilities and potentially movement into a full-time position based on desire and success. BarBend is NYC-based, though we will consider remote candidates for this position.

Social Media Manager Responsibilities:

  • On a weekly basis, manage and coordinate posting of content on our social media profiles, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok
  • Build a social media posting schedule and calendar to integrate bespoke (per platform) content as well as sharing of BarBend’s native content (website, YouTube, and podcasts)
  • Test, analyze, and act upon data from social media analytics to optimize engagement across platforms
  • Respond to comments and engage with our audience on above platforms
  • Prepare and present twice-monthly analytics reports to company management; set engagement and growth metric goals per platform

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Strong copywriting and proofreading skills
  • 2-3 years social media management experience; we’re looking for candidates with proven track records of building and engaging social followings across platforms
  • Experience with social media analytics
  • Google Analytics experience is a huge plus
  • Basic graphic design skills are a plus, though not required; BarBend has in-house design and motion graphics capabilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple departments, including editorial and creative
  • Passion for strength sports communities, competitions, and training

Details:

  • This is a part-time, contractor-based position with the possibility of moving to full time based on success and desire to expand role
  • Opportunities to grow into an expanded editorial role if desired
  • We are an NYC-based team but open to remote work for the right individuals
