CrossFit HQ announced on Wednesday that Chantelle Loehner, a member of Invictus X, and Lauren Herrera, a member of the SouthEast Beasts, have both been banned from CrossFit competition until April 2023.
Loehner and Herrera have been banned from CrossFit competitions for violating CrossFit’s Drug Testing Policy.
According to CrossFit HQ, Loehner tested positive for metabolites of Oral Turinabol in April of this year. In May, Loehner requested for a re-testing of her B sample, but the appeals process has now officially deemed her ineligible for competition through April 14, 2023.
This also means that her position in the Top 20 Open, and her invitation to the 2019 CrossFit Games, no longer stands. Her spot will go to the next athlete, and we will provide an updated Open Leaderboard as it becomes available.

CrossFit HQ stated in their press release that Herrera tested positive for “andarine, a metabolite of LGD4033, and metabolites of GW1516.” She tested positive back in April at the Mid-Atlantic CrossFit Challenge.

Like Loehner, this means she will no longer be eligible to compete for four years, which means the next time she can take part in official CrossFit competition will be April 12, 2023.
Loehner will not be heading to the 2019 CrossFit Games as an Individual nor with Team Invictus X. Invictus X recently earned their invite to this year’s Games at The Granite Games over the weekend. Despite finishing behind CrossFit Krypton, they still received the official invite since CrossFit Krypton had previously qualified.
As for the SouthEast Beasts, they have not qualified for the 2019 Games yet. Last week CrossFit HQ announced the official list of teams that had been sent invites. In total there will be 14 teams represented at the 2019 Games in Madison, Wisconsin this August.
