British strongwoman competitor and 2018 World’s Strongest Woman (WSW) Andrea Thompson of the United Kingdom has again broken the world record for the women’s Log Press. Thompson competed in the 2022 World Log Lift Championships (WLLC), where she set the new mark of 140 kilograms (308 pounds) and added to her legacy in the sport. The historic mark can be seen in the fourth video of her Instagram post below:

Thompson wore knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, wrist wraps, and a levered weightlifting belt when she made the lift at the Ipswich Regent Theatre in Ipswich, United Kingdom on Oct. 9, 2022. Thompson went into the day as the record holder thanks to a lift of 135 kilograms (297.7 pounds). She set that mark on July 4, 2020 as a part of World’s Ultimate Strongman’s “Feats of Strength Series.”
She opened her 2022 competition with a good lift of 125 kilograms (275 pounds), which she made look like a warm-up. She followed that with another successful attempt with 132 kilograms (291 pounds). She actually broke her previous world record on her third attempt with 137.5 kilograms (303.1 pounds) before setting the new mark of 140 kilograms on her fourth attempt. That attempt looked smooth, considering it was her fourth of the day. The judge gave the down command while Thompson smiled.
Thompson was coached by 2016 Europe’s Strongest Man and renowned strongman commentator Laurence Shahlaei, who she thanked in her post. Shahlaei was one of several renowned figures in the sport to congratulate her on her accomplishment. Others include 2022 Arnold Pro Strongwoman UK Champion Lucy Underdown, Annabelle Chapman, and Paul Smith.

This isn’t even the only lift that she held a world record in. In another episode of the Feats of Strength series, Thompson broke the strongwoman deadlift world record by pulling 290 kilograms (639.4 pounds). That record had since been broken by Underdown.
Thompson shared in her post that her next competition will be the 2022 Official Strongman Games, which will take place Nov. 11-13, 2022 in Daytona Beach, FL. The Log Press won’t be an event in that competition, but she will get to take part in the Viking Press, Farmer’s Walk, Axle Deadlift, and the Sandbag to Shoulder. If she makes it into the top 10, she will compete in the Car Walk, Circus Dumbbell Press, and the Atlas Stones.
