American automobile insurance company Geico is notorious for its funny commercials. When their iconic mascot gecko, Martin, isn’t the star of the commercial, they usually combine the banality of everyday life with an over-the-top character or circumstance to break the mold of day-to-day monotony. On Feb. 28, 2021, they released a commercial featuring 2019 World’s Strongest Man (WSM) champion Martins Licis doing just that.

A frowny-faced man named Walter is at the end of his driveway. He is picking away at the tape of an empty box so he can break it down properly for the recycling pick-up. Obviously, this is time that Walter could use to “save hundreds on car insurance and a whole lot more.” Cut to 2019 WSM Martins Licis lifting a giant rock — a nod to the Husafel stone event done in strongman competitions.
What am I going to do to you box?! Let me “break it down” for you!”
Licis proceeds to smash the boxes with the heavy stone. Moments later, CBS’s “Game On!” star Licis, with a recycling bin in each hand, clobbers Walter’s cubed cardboard in an otherwise peaceful neighborhood.
Walter, hyped up by the WSM champ, tosses a box into the wilting pile. Despite the judgemental looks from an onlooker trying to water her garden, it appears Walter made the right choice as Licis, with a thick rope slung over his shoulder, pulls a garbage truck right up to Walter’s house to finish the job.

You’re going down! Down to the recycling center!
Not only did Licis perform his civic duties by helping neighbor Walter with his recycling and enable them to save on car insurance, but it’s also probably safe to assume Licis pulled that truck all the way to the recycling center to help the environment. After all, who needs gas in the tank when you have the 2019 WSM? Great job, Martins Licis. Great job.
