The competitions of the 2022 Olympia weekend kicked off on the morning of Friday, Dec. 16, 2022, at the Venetian in Las Vegas, NV. Prejudging for the Fitness Olympia started the day off, and there was extra buzz after the news was revealed that defending champion, Whitney Jones, had to withdraw from the contest.
A new champion was guaranteed, but former champion Missy Truscott was in the lineup, as was Fitness International titleholder Ariel Khadr. The pre-judging for the Fitness division was the physique round, which counts for one-third of their overall score. Prior to the start of the contest, announcer Bob Cicherillo stated that four-time Olympia champion Oksana Grishina withdrew due to an injury she suffered during her prep for the contest.
After the other athletes were introduced and numerical callouts were made, the callouts began. The first and last callouts are important because those competitors would be among the front runners after the round.
