CrossFit Mayhem Freedom Adds Tasia Percevecz to Their Team
On October 24th, CrossFit Mayhem Freedom shared an image on their Instagram page that featured the team, but with an open spot in the middle. They poked fun at the question, “Who will be our sixth team member?” Last year, CrossFit Mayhem Freedom was composed of six powerhouse team members, which included: Rich Froning, Kristin Reffett, Lindy Barber, Matt Hewett, Ella Kabboord, and Darren Hunscuker.
Unfortunately for the team, Kristin Reffett ended up moving, and there was an opening available on their stacked roster. A week later, CrossFit Mayhem Freedom answered their initial question with who will be joining their team for the 2018 CrossFit season.
In comes Tasia Percevecz, a 15th place 2016 Games finisher and veteran CrossFit athlete.
Earlier this year, Percevecz found herself in a commanding spot during the 2017 Reebok CrossFit Open. She was in fourth place after workout 17.4 in the Northeast Region, and had a great shot at qualifying for Regionals with a solid workout 17.5 score, but life had different plans for Percevecz.

Right before workout 17.5, Percevecz fell sick with bronchitis, and attempted to recover over the weekend of 17.5, yet was unable to. She registered a score of one rep for workout 17.5, which took her from 4th place to 851st overnight.
Luckily for her, it appears CrossFit Mayhem Freedom saw her talent and decided to recruit her on their powerhouse team. From Percevecz’ photo below she writes, “I am BEYOND excited and grateful to be a part of @crossfitmayhemfreedom this season! I have a feeling it’s going to be an AMAZING year!!
CrossFit Mayhem Freedom recorded commanding performances in the 2015 and 2016 CrossFit seasons, and claimed first at the Games for both of those years. But last year, they ended up taking second behind Wasatch CrossFit, which came as a shock to many CrossFit fans.
The addition of Percevecz could be the change in dynamic the team needs to bounce back after a tough second place 2017 finish.
