“Clash on the Coast” Now Has the Backing of World’s Ultimate Strongman Plus a Live Stream

Anthony Fuhrman’s event just got a lot bigger.

Two-time U105 World’s Strongest Man and BarBend contributor Anthony Fuhrman didn’t want to wait around for opportunities to promote the division of strongman he competes in. He took the bull by the horns and created an opportunity himself. Thus, the “Clash on the Coast” event was born, and the inaugural contest for 105kg strongman athletes is currently scheduled to take place April 30th through May 2nd, 2021.

Previously announced to take place it Georgia, it is now set to take place at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. As serious as Fuhrman may have been about his endeavor, he is now no longer the only one committed to the success of this competition.

World’s Ultimate Strongman is now collaborating with Fuhrman’s “Strengthlete Collective” company and will be involved with Fuhrman’s contest. WUS also announced that the competition will be available to watch for free via streaming on CoreSports, the same streaming service that covered WUS’ “Feats of Strength” series throughout 2020.

They explained to BarBend that this is part of an overall expansion strategy.

“WUS is expanding into the US and across different categories via strategic partnerships with reliable entities and people who share a similar vision.”

Fuhrman’s first foray into strongman as a promoter appears to be off to a solid start, and he shared that this process is an evolution that began with a personal mission.

“This competition started as a dream years ago. The talent level of the 105kg class has always been world class but has not been featured in the way they deserve,” Fuhrman tells BarBend. “As I’ve been part of this amazing group of athletes we have never stopped striving to showcase our talents. Once the growth of Strengthlete Collective allowed me to move forward with promoting this show, WUS quickly became a valued partner. Their ability to see the quality in others and shape quality competitions is directly in line with our philosophy.”

Fuhrman further expressed optimism that this is going to be something that has a long-term future.

“I think we have not only created a place at the table for 105kg athletes, but we have started something that is going to change the sport forever.”

Fuhrman has said in the past that he wants to run this contest similar to the World’s Strongest Man contest, and have 23 athletes competing. Further details about this contest are still pending.
