CrossFit Games Athlete Alec Smith Joins PRVN Fitness
PRVN Fitness founder Shane Orr has had a phenomenal off-season following the 2020 CrossFit Games. He is the coach (and husband) to four-time Fittest Woman on Earth Tia-Clair Toomey, who put on arguably the most dominant performance the women’s division has ever seen at the 2020 Reebok CrossFit Games. The dividends of Toomey’s training did not go unnoticed — recently, 2020 Games fifth-place finisher Brooke Wells decided to team up with Orr and Toomey. Training together so far seems to be working well for them.
Now, another elite CrossFit Games athlete has entered the fold of PRVN Fitness’ roster — Alec Smith.

The 28-year-old Smith — whose brother is 2015 Games winner Ben Smith — made his CrossFit Games debut in 2017 to a 36th-place finish. He followed that up in 2018 with a 25th-place finish. In 2019, Alec hopped over to the Teams division with CrossFit Krypton alongside Cody Mooney, Jessica Griffith, Camille Leblanc-Bazinet, and alternate Adam Klink. They catapulted to a second-place finish at those Games.
Although he did not make an appearance at the 2020 Games — the Team division competition was canceled — Smith did score his best Open performance to date with a final rank of 64th.
With Wells and Smith added to the now stacked roster of PRVN Fitness, it begs the question of which other athletes might be joining them for the 2021 Open season.

Although the PRVN roster only consists of Toomey, Wells, and Smith, here are some of the stats the combined roster can boast:
- Nine top-16 place finishes at the CrossFit Games (10 if you include Teams division).
- Nine top-20 Open finishes.
- 11 top-10 Regional finishes.
- Seven Games podium finishes
Orr also trains Mat Fraser, the five-time reigning Fittest Man on Earth.
What the 2021 CrossFit Games will look like following the adjustments to the format in 2020 is anyone’s guess, but there is no doubt that with these elite competitors training together, PRVN Fitness will be a group to watch.
