The third annual Shaw Classic will take place at the Budweiser Event Center in Loveland, CO, on Aug. 13-14, 2022. It is the largest venue thus far in the contest’s young history.
The 2022 Shaw Classic roster was confirmed on July 8, 2022. It is updated from the initial roster Brian Shaw released on his YouTube channel on Jan. 11, 20222. The confirmed roster features the return of Žydrūnas Savickas, who is among four World’s Strongest Man (WSM) champions competing — the others are the titular strongman, Shaw, reigning two-time WSM champion Tom Stoltman, and 2020 WSM champion Oleksii Novikov. The 2022 Shaw Classic will also feature the Men’s and Women’s Open contest debut. As was the case with the previous two iterations of the Shaw Classic, Shaw will not retain any prize money he wins. Any purse he receives will be redistributed to the rest of the roster.

Open Contests at the Shaw Classic
As the name suggests, both the Men’s and Women’s Opens will not have weight classes. Per Shaw, “It doesn’t matter” if the prospective strongman and strongwomen interested in competing have never appeared in a sanctioned contest.
We want to give an opportunity to up-and-comers.
Athletes can earn a spot in the Open contests through an online qualifier — details to come. Athletes who qualify for the Shaw Classic Open contests must pay for their travel to Loveland, CO. The top three finishers in both Opens will receive prize money.
