Static Monsters Worldwide — the popular strongman show that sees athletes compete in the log press and the axle deadlift — had a huge showing. The competition, which has been an online-only show since 2015, featured 985 athletes (761 men and 224 women) and saw more than 20 countries represented. Four-time World’s Strongest Man winner Zydrunas Savickas also made an appearance and won both the Men’s and Masters divisions.
Here’s how it works: The lifts are recorded, sent to Static Monsters’ lead official, confirmed, and then sent to the organizers in Queensland, Australia, to be posted and determine the overall winners. Men’s Results and World Records
The overall winner in the Men’s Open is likely the most famous athlete in the field. Four-time World’s Strongest Man and eight-time Arnold Strongman Classic Champion Savickas took the win in this competition. He log-pressed 195 kilograms (430 pounds) and pulled an axle deadlift of 415 kilograms (915 pounds) for a total of 610 kilograms (1,345 pounds). Savickas has pressed 228 kilograms (502 pounds) before.
The 45-year-old Lithuanian strongman also took the Men’s Masters Division with those same numbers. He was followed by American Ulice Payne, in the Open, who actually lifted 20 kilograms more on the axle deadlift. His 435-kilogram deadlift was paired with a log press of 161 kilograms (355 pounds). The top log press of the day belonged to Aaron Page, who pressed 210 kilograms (463 pounds).

There were overall world records broken in a couple of different divisions. Nicholas Gagnon took the under 80-kilogram weight class world record in the log press with a lift of 145 kilograms (320 pounds). In the Male Adaptive division, Tobias Anthofer of Germany performed the seated axle deadlift with 632 kilograms (1,393.5 pounds).

Women’s Results and World Records
In the Women’s Open, American Sharon Moss was the top lifter in all three categories (press, deadlift, and total). Her log press of 99.8 kilograms (220 pounds) and axle deadlift of 306.2 kilograms (675 pounds) added up to the winning total of 406 kilograms (895.23 pounds). This is Moss’ first win in the Static Monsters contest.
Leah Burdsall’s log press of 113.4 kilograms (250 pounds) is believed to be a world record, but that had not been officially confirmed as of this writing.

Static Monsters also holds a world championship event every year. The next one is set to take place on July 24, 2020, in Columbus, OH. And next year’s Worldwide online competition is currently slated for Oct. 23-24, 2021.
