The sport of strongman will be featured on prime-time television. Two-time World’s Strongest Man (WSM) Tom Stoltman and his older brother, Luke Stoltman, will be profiled in a segment on HBO’s Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel. The segment will be a part of the episode scheduled to air on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 10 p.m. EST.
A teaser for the episode, sent to BarBend by HBO Sports, can be seen below, courtesy of HBO‘s YouTube channel:
In the teaser, the world’s strongest brothers can be seen prepping a meal, training for the Log Press, and taking a dip in the water off Scotland’s shore. They are interviewed by renowned sportscaster Mary Carillo.
The description for the upcoming segment promotes that they will cover “how the sport of weightlifting both fortified their bond and harnessed Tom’s struggles with autism to make him the best in the world.” It’s not clear when the episode was taped, but Luke Stoltman confirmed to BarBend that the crew flew to Scotland and that both Stoltman brothers were excited to see the final segment for themselves:
“Tom and myself were really blown away that they wanted to do a segment on our story,” Stoltman told BarBend. “It was really special as they included a lot of the family and the community in the story, which are both really important to us! And for them to come to our small town of Invergordon to film us made it even more special.”
2023 World’s Strongest Man
Tom and Luke are preparing for the 2023 WSM contest, scheduled to take place in Myrtle Beach, SC, on the week of Apr. 19-23. Tom Stoltman seeks to become the seventh man to win three WSM titles. Luke Stoltman will try to win his first title and make him and Tom the only pair of brothers to win the most coveted title in the sport.
