League of Legends streamer Tyler1 (aka Tyler Steinkamp) will host a powerlifting meet on Twitch Rivals for the first time ever. The event will take place on April 19, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. PST. It will feature 10 content creators, including Tyler1 himself, split into two squads of five.
Other streamers confirmed for the event include Macaiyla (League of Legends, Bloodborne, Minecraft, Valorant), bodybuilder Jackson “Bajheera” Bliton (World of Warcraft), Cassidy aka “MartiniMonsters,” and fitness streamers Tom and Helen aka “TominationTime.” Details have not yet been released regarding weight classes for the event.

In a sort of mash-up of powerlifting and CrossFit, each squad member will perform four exercises from a list of five movements. That list includes the big three — squat, bench press, deadlift — and two bodyweight-only movements — push-ups and pull-ups. All movements will be scored in points. The powerlifting movements will be scored by max load to determine those points, and max reps will score the bodyweight movements. Each squad’s total points will determine which squad wins. To be clear, this will function as a team event, which means that the top-performing lifter may not necessarily win.
Although Tyler1’s fame comes primarily from having 4.2 million followers on Twitch and being a designated content creator for South Korean esports team T1, he has some serious chops in the gym. The more recent posts on his Instagram page feature him squatting 183.7 kilograms (405 pounds) for a set of 10, bench pressing that same weight for a single, and hang cleaning 143 kilograms (315 pounds) for nine reps.
