The women’s divisions at the 2023 IPF World Classic Championships on June 11-18, 2023, in St. Julian’s, Malta, have been a bountiful harvest of all-time raw world record lifts. In the 47-kilogram class, defending world champion Tiffany Chapon of France advanced the all-time raw bench press world record to 99.5 kilograms. Likewise, also at 47-kilograms, Heather Connor of the USA furthered the all-time raw deadlift world record to 200 kilograms.
Not to be left out of the world record celebrations, Farhanna Farid of Singapore set a new all-time world record raw deadlift of 203 kilograms en route to an eighth-place overall finish. Check out Farid’s record deadlift in the video below, courtesy of the IPF’s Instagram page:

In a sumo stance with a mixed grip, Farid made a never-before-scored weight on the barbell look like a warm-up on the world stage. From the moment the barbell moved, Farid sped it to lockout for a good lift, a bow, and an accomplished smile. Below are Farid’s full stats from Malta, where she went eight for nine in attempts:
2023 IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships Results — Farhanna Farid, 52KG

Farid’s new world record raw deadlift eclipsed the previous record scored by New Zealand’s Evie Corrigan at the 2023 IPF Sheffield Powerlifting Championships (SPC) by half a kilogram. Corrigan, however, improved upon her fourth-place finish at the 2022 IPF World Classic Championships, scoring gold with a 460-kilogram total, 10 kilograms more than runner-up Noemie Allabert of France. Allabert was the defending world champion at 52-kilograms.
Corrigan’s 460-kilogram total matched the all-time raw world record she set at the 2023 SPC. Given the volume of world records that have thus far been toppled, several more are expected before the 2023 IPF World Classic Championships conclude on June 18, 2023.
