The latest iteration of the Reebok Floatride Energy franchise hit the shelves on March 31, 2023. Offering the most cushioning and support of all previous editions, Floatride Energy 5 running shoes feature a completely redesigned Floatride Energy Foam midsole, a wider and taller base for improved stability, and added torsion support via the new midfoot X-Plate for a responsive run.
According to Reebok‘s press release, key details of the Floatride Energy 5 running shoes include:
- X-Plate Torsional Support — Increased stiffness in the midfoot.
- Speed Shift 2.0 Upper — Evolved Speed Shift upper for breathability and durability.
- Floatride Energy Foam Midsole — Wider and taller Floatride Energy Foam for an extra responsive feel and energy return.
- Reebok [REE]CYCLED Product — At least 30 percent of the upper material is made from recycled materials.
The Reebok Floatride Energy 5 running shoes are available for $110 MSRP USD on Reebok.com and select retailers worldwide in various colorways.

The release of the Floatride Energy 5 comes just over a month after the release of the Reebok NanoX3 cross trainers, which became available worldwide on Feb. 10, 2023, and just two weeks after the release of the Nano X3 Rec Center Pack on March 17, 2023.
2023 CrossFit Season
The 2023 CrossFit season is well underway, and the world’s top functional fitness athletes are sifting to the top of the CrossFit leaderboard. The 2022 CrossFit Games runner-up Mal O’Brien won the 2023 CrossFit Open, making it the second year in a row she’s claimed that honor. Jeffrey Adler won the Open for the Individual Men’s division.
O’Brien continued her dominance in the Quarterfinals, scoring the overall victory in the Individual Women’s division. Two-time reigning Fittest Man on Earth® Justin Medeiros topped the Quarterfinals on the Men’s side, raking in his second year in a row as the top Quarterfinalist.
The 2023 CrossFit Semifinals are scheduled for April 28 through June 4, 2023, to determine which athletes will compete at the 2023 CrossFit Games in Madison, WI, on Aug. 1-6, 2023.
