Winner — Hossein Kalateh
Kalateh’s victory may be the upset of the season in the 212 division. He has competed in the 212 and Men’s Open divisions in the last two seasons, with the highlight being his victory at the 2022 Toronto Pro Supershow 212 contest. However, he didn’t compete in the 2022 Olympia 212 contest.
The Vancouver Pro was Kalateh’s more recent pro show in the Men’s Open when he placed 13th. This win gives him a qualification to the 2023 Olympia 212 contest in Orlando, FL, on the weekend of Nov. 2-5, 2023. If he competes, it will be his Olympia debut.
Second Place — David Henry
This is David Henry’s second straight runner-up finish this season. He last landed silver at the 2023 Masters Olympia 212 show, won by Hidetada Yamagishi. Henry is a former Olympia champion, so he’s qualified to compete in the 2023 212 Olympia, even without a pro show win during the 2023 season.
Third Place — Noel Adame
This was Noel Adame’s second pro show of the 2023 season. He ranked second overall at the 2023 Texas Pro and hoped to convert an Olympia qualification in Burnaby. His last Olympia appearance was in 2021, where he placed 13th. Adame has until Oct. 9, 2023, to qualify for the 2023 Olympia via a pro show victory.
Other Notes
According to the IFBB Pro League, the final 212 show of the 2023 season is the 2023 Balkan Grand Prix Pro, slated for Oct. 7, 2023, in Sofia, Bulgaria. The winner of that show will earn the last qualification for the 2023 Olympia 212 show before the cutoff date of Oct. 9, 2023.
