Davidsdottir Vs. LeBlanc-Bazinet: Who Won This CrossFit Showdown?

So “Girls Gone Wild” maybe wasn’t the best title, but this new video from CompTrain offers up a pretty unusual group of athletes tackling a pretty brutal workout.

Five of CrossFit’s best known female athletes all convened with the intention of tackling not one, not two, but three of the sport’s toughest WODs.

Katrin Davidsdottir, Camille LeBlanc-Bazinet, Brooke Wells, Amanda Barnhart, Jessica Griffith, and Ehea Schuerch got together with CompTrain, a company that focuses on providing programming for CrossFit athletes. (It’s run by Ben Bergeron, who coaches both Davidsdottir and Wells.)

For 4 minutes it’s Fran’s famous descending couplets: 21, 15, and 9 reps each of thrusters (65 pounds) and pull-ups. Then from 4 minutes until 8 minutes it’s Diane, with the same descending couplets of deadlifts (155 pounds) and handstand push-ups. Then finally, at the 8-minute mark, you’ve got Amanda: three sets of muscle ups and squat snatches (95 pounds) with 9, 7, and 5 reps each.

Appropriately enough, the two athletes who once reigned as the Fittest Women on Earth™ — Davidsdottir and Leblanc-Bazinet — tied for first place in the first event. Watch all three unfold below.

Brooke Wells received a bit of scrutiny for her form but on our end, we couldn’t stop watching LeBlanc-Bazinet. Given how well she performed, we can’t help but wonder how she would have performed if she had made it all the way through the 2017 Games — she had to withdraw due to a dislocated shoulder. In “Girls Gone Wild” she tied with Katrin Davidsdottir in the first event and actually defeated her in the third.

We’re looking forward to her performance in Madison this year, to say the least.
