If a powerlifter were to pull 10 kilograms (22.1 pounds) over the all-time world record deadlift in a given weight category while training at the gym, one might assume that was a grueling training session. While the intensity may line up with that presumption, the execution of an unofficial world record looks much easier in the hands of Kristy Hawkins.
The 75-kilogram powerlifter took to her Instagram page on July 15, 2022, to share a video wherein she locked out a 285-kilogram (628.2-pound) deadlift raw in a conventional stance. That’s 3.8-times her competition bodyweight and is well within the range of what elite strongwomen pull in competition. Check out Hawkins’ new PR in the video below. She wore a lifting belt, used a mixed grip, and notably forewent the use of lifting straps:

Hawkins’ PR deadlift appeared to be a slow and steady agony to the lockout. Her bracing held strong through the lift without the need to grind. According to Open Powerlifting, Hawkins has every world record in the raw 75-kilogram class, except for the bench press. Her world records are below:
Throughout July, Hawkins’ training has been littered with PRs. Two days before her deadlift PR, On July 1, 2022, Hawkins’ hit a double deadlift PR of 277.5 kilograms (611.8 pounds) and a double deficit deadlift PR of 255 kilograms (562.2 pounds). Check both out in the videos below:
