Powerlifter Prescillia Bavoil Sets 3 New IPF World Records

Bavoil threw up new records in the squat, deadlift, and Total.

The sun rises and falls, and powerlifter Prescillia Bavoil sets records. On Sep. 24, 2022, during day two of the Arnold Classic Sports Festival UK, the French athlete set a new International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) World Record in the back squat, deadlift, and Total.

Weighing in at 63 kilograms of body weight (138.8 pounds), Bavoil squatted a whopping 213 kilograms (469.5 pounds), pulled 231 kilograms (509.2 pounds), and Totaled 556.5 kilograms (1,226.8 pounds) during her session at the Arnold.

The mammoth squat in particular was a new personal record for Bavoil, and it also exceeded the previous 63-kilogram IPF squat record of 205 kilograms, which she held herself and had set roughly a year prior in September 2021.

According to OpenPowerlifting, Bavoil’s previous competition best in the squat was 210.5 kilograms (464 pounds), which she hit while weighing a little over her Arnold UK bodyweight of 63 kilos.

Bavoil’s knockout performance was one to watch. She went nine-for-nine, hitting all her lifts on the platform. Here’s a breakdown of her entire performance on the day:

From Redemption to Records

Bavoil’s stunning performance at the Arnold Classic UK was more than just another successful day on the platform for the career powerlifter.

According to her Instagram account, “a hard failure to digest” is how she described missing weight for the recent 2022 IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships in June, noting that her appearance at the Arnold was an opportunity to “rise up stronger than ever.”
