French powerlifter Prescillia Bavoil recently earned third place in -63kg in the Women’s Open at the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) World Classic Powerlifting Championships. Bavoil squatted 188kg, bench pressed 100kg, and deadlifted 202.5kg for a 490.5kg total. Her squat of 188kg was an IPF world record in the -63kg weight class.
While the Championships only wrapped up a few weeks ago, Bavoil is already back to hitting serious PRs.
In her latest post, she deadlift a huge 205kg, or 451 pounds, for deadlift PR of well over triple her bodyweight. This pull was 2.5kg over her deadlift last month at the IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships. On her Instagram Bavoil wrote (in French, but see translated below),
Translated: What moves me the most in this video is not even the PR … It’s just to be surrounded by those people who are so dear to me and who supported me in my preparation. These encouragements that make me want to exceed my limits. Just, thank you for being here. Thank you for being you. Thank you for believing in me.
According to Open Powerlifting, Bavoil has only been competing since 2017, but she’s been improving dramatically and hit PRs across the board at IPF Worlds.
She’s still a ways from grabbing the -63kg world record deadlift from Samantha Calhoun, who currently holds it at 221.5 kilograms, but we wouldn’t be surprised if we see Bavoil making a run at it in the next year.
