The 2022 Arnold Strongman Classic (ASC) has a roster of 10 elite strongmen and an official list of five events they will compete in on Mar. 4-5, 2022, in Columbus, OH. However, that won’t be the only strongman action at the 2022 Arnold Sports Festival (ASF). The Rogue Record Breakers (RRB) contest will also return to feature athletes from around the globe attempting to etch their names into the strongman record books.
On Jan. 19, 2022, Rogue Fitness announced the 2022 RRB Online Qualifier, wherein prospective strongmen and strongwomen looking to punch their ticket to Columbus gain the opportunity to submit their best attempts in five events. The virtual competition started on Jan. 18, 2022, and submissions are due by Feb. 7, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. EST. Athletes can register by linking their Rogue accounts to the Beyond the White Board app on iOS and Android.

2022 Rogue Record Breaker Qualifier Events
The 2022 RRB Online Qualifier consists of the following five events:
Thor’s Hammer
At the 2021 Rogue Invitational weekend, 2019 World’s Strongest Man (WSM) champion Martins Licis won the weekend’s namesake contest and set a Thor’s Hammer Lift world record of 300 pounds. However, the event is getting a slight makeover for the RRB Online Qualifier.
Instead and a single-hand hold of weight attached to an anvil grip, the event is a front hold for time. Eligible holds are required to last a minimum of 30 seconds. Men must use a minimum of 53 pounds. Women must use a minimum of 35 pounds. Any weight beyond the required minimum will not matter. The only metric that will affect the leaderboard is the hold length.
Weight Over Bar
Using minimum weights of 56 pounds and 28 pounds for men and women, respectively, athletes will attempt to toss the designated weight over the highest bar possible. The minimum bar height is 17 feet.
Leaderboard rankings will be affected by the height of the bar, not the weight tossed — meaning the higher the bar with the requisite weight, the higher the overall placing in the event. According to Rogue Fitness, the current RRB records are held by 2018 WSM champion Hafthor Björnsson (20 feet, two inches) and strongwoman Denise Green (21 feet, two inches).
Stone Over Bar
Athletes will attempt to hoist the heaviest Atlas Stone possible over a 48-inch bar. Strongmen must lift a minimum of 204 kilograms (449.7 pounds). Strongwomen must lift a minimum of 124 kilograms (273.3 pounds). For clarity, the bar height remains the same. Athletes rank by their heaviest stone lifted successfully.
The current RRB records in the Stone Over Bar are held by three-time World’s Strongest Woman (WSW) Donna Moore (377 pounds) and 2021 WSM champion Tom Stoltman (630 pounds).

Dinnie Stone Walk
The Dinnie Stone Walk for max distance consists of a farmer’s carry using two unevenly weighted implements. The event is inspired by the Dinnie Stones in Potarch, Scotland — a pair of unevenly weighted stones that total 743 pounds. The current Dinnie Stone world record belongs to strongman Laurence Shahlaei, who carried them unassisted for 14 feet, 10 inches.
Although the event is titled a “walk,” the RRB Online Qualifier requires a hold for max time in a split jerk position using the following weight ranges:
- Implement one — 145.15 kilograms (320 pounds) to 147.42 kilograms (325 pounds)
- Implement two — 190.51 kilograms (420 pounds) to 192.78 kilograms (425 pounds)
The minimum hold for RRB qualification eligibility is five seconds.
Elephant Bar Deadlift
The final event of the RRB Online Qualifier is a one-rep-max Elephant Bar deadlift. Strongmen must lift a minimum of 340 kilograms (800 pounds), and strongwomen must pull a minimum of 205 kilograms (450 pounds).
The current RRB records in this event were hit in 2020. Andrea Thompson locked out 281.7 kilograms (621 pounds), and Björnsson successfully scored 474.5 kilograms (1,046 pounds). For all submission standards, check out the 2022 RRB Qualifier website.
