Team CrossFit Mayhem Freedom Roster Announced — Andrea Nisler, Taylor Williamson, Chase Hill, Rich Froning
Andrea Nisler, Taylor Williamson, and Chase Hill are the new members of Team CrossFit Mayhem Freedom alongside four-time Fittest Man on Earth® Rich Froning. The overhaul of the team was a necessity to adhere to new rules added to the 2021 CrossFit rulebook, which was released with the 2021 CrossFit Open schedule. Those rules include:
- Team members are active members of the team’s CrossFit affiliate (in this case CrossFit Mayhem).
- Team members had to have started training at CrossFit Mayhem on or before Jan. 1, 2021.
- Team members live within a 100-mile radius of CrossFit Mayhem — the same rule applies to all Teams and their respective CrossFit affiliates. (For reference, CrossFit Mayhem is located in Cookeville, TN.)
- Team members cannot own a different CrossFit affiliate.
That latter two rules are primarily what caused Scott Panchik and Chyna Cho to be ineligible for the Team. Panchik is the licensee of record of CrossFit Mentality in Mentor, OH, and Cho is the co-owner of Good For You CrossFit in Newark, CA with Freddie Camacho. The fourth member of the team, Tasia Percevecz, was already planning on skipping the 2021 season before the change in the rules due to health concerns.

Andrea Nisler
For Nisler, the choice to swap from being a rival of Mayhem Freedom to a member was recognizing them as the top team.
If you can’t beat them join them.
Nisler ranked 15th overall in the 2020 Open and third in the United States. She has been a competitor in the Team division at the CrossFit Games since 2016. In the 2016 and 2017 seasons, she competed with Team Timberwolf CrossFit to a 29th place finish and eighth-place finish, respectively. In 2018, she came in third at the Games with Team CrossFit OC3. In 2019, she secured a fourth-place finish alongside Team OC3 Black.

Taylor Williamson
Williamson finished the 2020 Open ranked 30th overall and 11th in the United States. She has four CrossFit Games appearances in the Team division since her debut in 2016, three with Team CrossFit OC3, and most recently with Team OC3 Black. Her four Games appearances resulted in three top-five finishes:
- 2016 CrossFit Games — Fifth Place
- 2017 CrossFit Games — Ninth Place
- 2018 CrossFit Games — Third Place
- 2019 CrossFit Games — Fourth Place
Williamson received a call from her former CrossFit OC3 teammate Andrea Nisler about joining her on Mayhem Freedom. Suffice to say, she accepted and a pair of Mayhem Freedom’s toughest rivals in years’ past will now sport a Mayhem Freedom jersey.

Chase Hill
The 32-year-old Hill has not yet made his CrossFit Games debut. He has competed in the Open six times since 2013 with his best finish coming in 2017 where he ranked 265th overall and 169th in the United States. He is a former member of Team CrossFit Mayhem Independence which scored a third-place finish at the 2019 CrossFit French Throwdown.
Team Mayhem Freedom’s Record
Since the creation of Team Mayhem Freedom in 2015, the roster has never been entirely the same in back-to-back years. With this recent change of nearly the entire roster, Froning will be the only original member of the team still on the roster.
The four-time Fittest Man on Earth has proven that he is able to lead the team to success despite shake-ups to the roster. Their competitive track record is the strongest of any team currently in the sport. Discounting 2020 as Team competition was canceled from the CrossFit Games due to COVID-19, Team Mayhem Freedom has four Games titles and one runner-up finish in the five appearances they have made:
- 2015 CrossFit Games — First Place
- 2016 CrossFit Games — First Place
- 2017 CrossFit Games — Second Place
- 2018 CrossFit Games — First Place
- 2019 CrossFit Games — First Place
Forward to 2021
Will the addition of two of Mayhem Freedom’s fiercest rivals to the team propel them to a fifth CrossFit Games title? With the Games set for July 27 through Aug. 1, there is now, even more, to look forward to.
