In a post recently published on their blog, Rogue Fitness has announced they have acquired OSO Barbell, Tyler Stilson’s weightlifting equipment company that’s best known for their range of specialty weightlifting collars. OSO is perhaps best known for their range of colorful barbell collars.
Rogue Fitness founder Bill Henniger said,
We are very excited to bring OSO into the Rogue family of American made products. I have always admired Tyler’s designs and ingenuity, so we are excited to continue working with him on new products, as well.
Over on Instagram, OSO Barbell said of the deal,
We at OSO could not be more excited! Over the last three years it has been our honor to bring you products that are innovative, functional, and OSO stylish! We are excited to continue to innovate along side Rogue Fitness.
If this is the first you’re hearing about OSO, it’s a company that took the business mantra of “find your niche and prosper” seriously. Founded in Colorado, Tyler Stilson was tired of “(struggling) to get those spring collars on/off quickly when seconds count.”
Fast forward three years, and OSO sells six different kinds of collars in a wide variety of colors, and they even offer the choice of customizing your collars with your own logo. Over the years they’ve added to their product line with safety blocks, featherweights, mini bars, false grips, and apparel, and OSO has become to the collar of choice for many high level athletes and competitions, including Wodapalooza.
Rogue Fitness, of course, is one of the most dominant manufacturers of gym equipment in the United States and is the official equipment supplier of the Reebok CrossFit® Games, USA Weightlifting, the Arnold Strongman Classic, and the World’s Strongest Man competition.
In 2018, Rogue will carry all OSO products into their line-up and move the company’s production to Columbus, where Rogue is headquartered.
