The 2022 CrossFit Open kicks off on Feb. 24, 2022, and will span three weeks, with a different workout featured each Thursday. On Feb. 3, 2022, The OUT Foundation — an organization with the mission to “remove barriers that block LGBTQ+ individuals’ access and participation in fitness” — announced the return of their OUT in the OPEN leaderboard, which will feature aggregated scores of participating LGBTQ+ athletes and allies.
According to The OUT Foundation’s press release:
“By using CrossFit Games verbiage of “CrossFit Men’s Standards” and “CrossFit Women’s Standards,” the OUT in the OPEN Leaderboard permits an athlete the choice of which standards they wish to compete under.”
The OUT in the OPEN leaderboard ranks LGBTQ+ athletes and allies 2022 CrossFit Open scores against each other for a chance to win weekly prizes. In 2021, prizes included fitness apparel from PUMA like their FUSE Training Shoe, Beast goodr sunglasses, O2 recovery drinks, and gym accessories, to name a few.
