The rap game is evolving. These days, an MC need bars in the studio and barbells in the gym. The latest hip-hop megastar to take some time away from the recording studio to knock out some reps in the gym is Lil Uzi Vert. On Sept. 20, 2021, the Philadelphia-native appeared in a video on DJ Micah Mahinay’s (aka Noodles) Instagram page trap bar deadlifting 118.8 kilograms (262 pounds) for a triple. Lil Uzi Vert performed the set without knee sleeves or a lifting belt but did wear gloves. Check it out:

Other Jacked Rappers
Lil Uzi Vert joins the ranks of a few impressive rappers to hit the gym hard. We’ve seen Wu-Tang Clan alum Method Man pulling heavy 475-pound deadlifts and incline pressing 100-pound dumbbells. New York City native Action Bronson routinely trains farmer’s walks, back squats, and strongman techniques to lose over 100 pounds with 2019 World’s Strongest Man (WSM) Martins Licis. We’ve even seen Dr. Dre show off his abs in solidarity with actor Will Smith while he trained to get back into shape for his YouTube mini-series titled “Best Shape of My Life.”
According to HITC, Lil Uzi Vert stands five feet, four inches tall, and weighs 68 kilograms (149.9 pounds). That means his trap bar deadlift triple was 1.75 times his body weight. During the lockout of each rep, Lil Uzi Vert’s physique suggests he is no stranger to the gym as he sports a chiseled midsection, developed shoulders, large traps.
Lil Uzi Vert’s training session did not consist solely of heavy deadlifts. It also included tri-bar hammer curls (a tri-bar is a barbell with two neutral-grip handles) and a unique chin-up variant that involves maintaining a tucked position for the entirety of the rep.
Lil Uzi Vert hasn’t shared the workout video with his 5.6 million Instagram followers, but his training session is still viral. Hopefully, Lil Uzi Vert’s 23-million-strong Spotify audience is inspired to follow suit and head to the gym to move weight “Over Your Head” before “Sleeping On The Floor.”
