Yesterday, 10-time CrossFit Games veteran Annie Thorisdottir made an announcement on her social media accounts that almost instantly sent thousands of congratulatory messages to her comments sections.
On both Instagram and Facebook, Thorisdottir shared a photo of her and boyfriend, four-time Games athlete Frederik Aegidius, holding hands with a little pair of Reebok baby shoes and wrote,
5th of August @frederikaegidius
That’s right, CrossFit Games legend and two-time Fittest Woman On Earth™ Annie Thoridottir is expecting a baby with her boyfriend Frederik, who shared the same photo on his own Instagram page. This news has propelled the CrossFit community into a state of celebration for these two CrossFit Games favorites.
This year’s CrossFit Games are set to be held July 27th through August 2nd, so Thoridottir’s current timeline of expectancy is aligning nearly perfectly with the finishing of the 2020 Games!
What Top CrossFit Athletes Have Said
The two could best be described as a CrossFit power couple, and multiple top athletes have shared their congratulations on both of their posts. Here are some of the big names that chimed in with their comments:
- Lauren Fisher: “AWWW OMG SO EXCITING. Congrats to you both!!!”
- Khan Porter: “Congrats guys!”
- Camille Leblanc-Bazinet: “Omg are you serious!!!!!!”
- Brooke Wells: “OH MY GOSH!!!! Congrats Annie ahhhhhhh”
- Kristin Holte: “This is so exciting! Congratulations Annie and Frederik. Another super baby is coming”
We’ve got to say, Holte’s comment stood out to us: if any baby will be born with the ability to do ring muscle ups, it’ll be theirs.
The list of congratulations kind of just keeps on going. Thorisdottir is currently ranked second in the world for this year’s CrossFit Open, and Aegidius and Thorisdottir have attended 15 CrossFit Games together. Congratulations to the happy couple.
