How to Qualify
The IFBB Pro League has four ways of qualifying for the Ms. Olympia. Past champions are automatically eligible for life, but they must obtain permission from officials if five years have elapsed since their last win. The top three from the previous year’s Olympia are also automatically eligible for the following year.
Outside of that, contenders need to win a show during the qualifying season to secure their spot in the Olympia lineup. The final way to make it on the stage is by special invite, and none are expected to be issued for the 2024 Olympia.
The Past Champion
There is only one Olympia winner in this lineup: four-time Ms. Olympia Andrea Shaw. Shaw has dominated the division since the Ms. Olympia returned in 2020. She also won the Rising Phoenix World Championship competition four times.
Shaw started this season as the early favorite to win her fifth Olympia championship, but the gap between herself and her number-one contender, Angela Yeo, has closed.
Top Contenders
2023 Ms. Olympia runner-up Angela Yeo pulled off the upset of the decade when she beat Shaw to win the 2024 Rising Phoenix show earlier in the year. That makes Shaw’s Olympia title defense this year the most challenging of her reign. Some fans think Yeo will become the new champion in Las Vegas.
Alcione Santos Barreto ranked third at the 2023 Olympia, so she has an outside chance of spoiling the showdown between Shaw and Yeo. However, Santos has not competed since then, making her appearance for 2024 a mystery.
Dark Horses
Other contenders looking to steal the spotlight include 2024 Chicago Pro winner Sherry Priami, who was fourth one year ago. Kristina Mendoza won the 2024 Tampa Pro, and could be in the first callout with the top contenders. Mendoza was not in the 2023 Olympia.
Another dark horse to watch is Theresa Ivancik, who ranked seventh in 2022 but did not compete in the 2023 Olympia. She won a qualification for the 2024 Olympia by winning the 2024 Triple O Dynasty Pro.
Other Notes
Pre-judging for the 2024 Ms. Olympia will occur at the Las Vegas Convention Center, and finals will be held in Resorts World later that day. Both rounds will be streamed live for fans not in Las Vegas via the 2024 Olympia pay-per-view. Details of how to purchase the pay-per-view can be found on the Olympia Productions website.
