Two-time defending champion Mitchell Hooper led after the Elephant Bar Deadlift and Overhead Gauntlet events. He was well-positioned to secure the day-one lead in an event he is notoriously proficient in.

2025 ASC Timber Carry Recap
Boudreault opened the event and collapsed upon reaching the top of the ramp that caused medical to rush to his aid. Fortunately, he was okay and the measurement had him listed at 11.36 meters but did not secure the entire timber across the finish line. Guiardone ran second and failed to complete the course — just shy of the finish line.
Stoltman ran third, having a lackluster competition thus far. The timber slipped out of his ahdn eary in the run and that was enough for him to wave off to the crowd. He’ll need a huge day two to move up the leaderboard.
Singleton ran fourth, sitting in seventh overall entering the event. He was the first to finish the course; doing so in just under 18 seconds.
Thompson’s run was similar to Stoltman’s in that Thompson lifted the timber and nudged it partially off the starting point before waving off. Andrade entered the stage shortly thereafter, and became the second strongman to finish the course, missing Singleton’s time by about a second.
Hatton continued to impress in his ASC debut by clearing the course in just over 12 seconds, showing that he is not only at the elite level but capable of beating some of the best in the world.
Trey Mitchell give inside the Timber but barely lifted it. He was credited with moving the Timber, meaning he would score a point, but nothing beyond that.
Björnsson was to the frame next. This is typically a challenging event for him as he has failed to finish it in the past. However, this time around he completed the course after a pair of drops to close in just under 23 seconds.
Hooper was the last athlete to run the course, knowing the time he had to beat was Hatton’s 12.37 seconds. He closed the show with roars from the crowd as he dropped the timber miscarry but still got it across the finish line in just over 10 seconds.
