The Sheffield Powerlifting Championships will return to Sheffield City Hall on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025, in the Oval Hall of Sheffield City Hall. Twenty-four of the world’s strongest powerlifters — 12 male and 12 female — will converge in Sheffield, England, to lift against their respective weight class’s International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) raw total world record for the title of “champion of champions.”
Per the 2025 Sheffield press release, the competition was “launched in partnership with the IPF…[to] showcase the stars of powerlifting in a high-profile event with the largest prize fund in the sport’s history.” Regardless of weight class, the challenge of the 2025 Sheffield is simple: who can break the world record total by the greatest margin?
