BarBend is seeking competitive grant applications that align with our mission “to help people live stronger, healthier lifestyles by delivering the best, most-informed content in the strength sports and fitness space.” Competitive project proposals should emphasize evidence-based recommendations, focus on an under-represented sector of strength training, explicitly detail how the project findings can be disseminated to the public, and demonstrate how the project is aligned with BarBend’s goals.
Eligible Projects: The types of projects funded will vary based on the level of knowledge and experience of project team members. Eligible projects can include elements of traditional research methods and/or practice. Projects involving human subjects research must demonstrate Institutional Review Board approval from the sponsoring institution.
Award: Grant(s) may be awarded for $5,000 for one year of support. The number of grants awarded will ultimately depend on the quality, potential outcomes, and relevance to BarBend’s mission. Funds cannot be used for indirect costs or F&A.
Grant Period: The grant award period is rolling and begins December 21, 2021, though we highly recommend applying before July 1, 2022.
Deadline: Applications must be submitted electronically (send to info@barbend.com). Proposals received and submitted to the requested specifications (below) will be reviewed by a designated committee of BarBend staff and affiliate writers. Applicants who have awards granted will be notified of the status within six (6) weeks of submission.
