Men’s Physique Athletes to Watch
Below are athletes in Men’s Physique who are likely to make it to first callouts and contend for the title.
Mailson Araujo Santos
Mailson Araujo Santos is making his pro debut, coming off a win in the 2023 NPC Worldwide Arnold Classic Amateur Brazil, where he earned his IFBB pro card. This is a great opportunity for him to maintain that momentum and score his first pro win early in the season, boosting the length of his off-season to prepare for the 2023 Olympia.
Everton W. B. Ribeiro
Ribeiro is making his 2023 season debut at this contest. His last show was the 2022 Musclecontest Mercosul Pro, where he finished second overall. The third-year professional still seeks his first victory in the IFBB Pro League, and there is no better time than this show to claim it.
Maiki Ono
Ono is also in his rookie season but already has one pro show under his belt in 2023. He ranked fifth overall at the 2023 Sur Cup Chile Pro. Having his first show out of the way and having been competitive in that contest suggest Ono should have a combination of confidence and a show-ready physique already primed for a top finish.

Women’s Physique Athletes to Watch
Women’s Physique has a deep roster, but the three athletes below are early favorites to reach first callouts.
Alessandra Santos
None of the athletes in the Women’s Physique lineup have any Olympia experience, so this is a good opportunity for someone to stand out from the crowd. Alessandra Santos has a strong chance of doing just that, as she was the 2021 NPC Worldwide Olympia Amateur Brazil winner. She took the 2022 season off to make improvements, so this will be her highly-anticipated pro debut.
Naiana Silva
Silva is a second-year pro competing in the second pro contest of her career. She was fourth in the 2022 Musclecontest Brazil Pro show. With a full year to prepare, the matchup between her and Santos should be a tight battle for the fans and judges alike.
Paloma Aragao
Aragao is one of the veterans in this lineup, having been a pro since 2019. Her last contest was the 2022 Musclecontest Brazil Pro, where she ranked 14th. This will be her 2023 season debut and she’ll certainly aim to leverage her experience to reach the Olympia stage.
