The superheavyweight Women’s division at the 2024 Powerlifting America (PA) Raw Nationals in Reno, NV, was a showcase for Alexis Jones. Jones scored the overall gold via a 698.5-kilogram total comprised of an unofficial IPF raw bench press and deadlift world records.
The lifts are considered unofficial world records, as the 2024 PA Raw Nationals meet was not an international contest. The lifts are still remarkable feats of strength that can be seen in the video below, courtesy of Jones’ Instagram page:

Although Jones is well away from Sonita Muluh‘s IPF raw squat world record of 300.5 kilograms, Jones displayed immense strength, exceeding the IPF raw world records for the second and third of the big three lifts in Reno. Below is Jones’ perfect nine-for-nine performance:
2024 Powerlifting America Raw Nationals Results — Alexis Jones, +84KG
- Squat
- 227.5 kilograms (501.6 pounds)
- 247.5 kilograms (545.6 pounds)
- 260 kilograms (573.2 pounds)
- Bench Press
- 152.5 kilograms (336.2 pounds)
- 160 kilograms (352.7 pounds)
- 166 kilograms (366 pounds) — Unofficial IPF Raw World Record
- Deadlift
- 232.5 kilograms (512.6 pounds)
- 247.5 kilograms (545.6 pounds)
- 272.5 kilograms (600.8 pounds) — Unofficial IPF Raw World Record
- Total — 698.5 kilograms (1,539.9 pounds)
Jones’ third bench press was a single kilogram heavier than the current IPF raw world record of 165 kilograms, held by Amelie Mierger. Mierger has since exceeded that record, locking out 167.5 kilograms at the 2023 Girl Power Tournament in Cenon, France, on Oct. 22, 2023. Although the record technically stands at 165 kilograms, it is clearly not the ceiling for this division.
Jones’ 272.5-kilogram deadlift exceeded the current IPF raw world record of 268 kilograms by 5.5 kilograms. Natalie Laalaai locked out that record 268-kilogram lift at the 2023 IPF World Classic Championships in Malta. Laalaai previously achieved the unofficial record 272.5-kilogram deadlift at the 2023 Australian Powerlifting Union (APU) Western Australia State Championships (WASC) on Dec. 3, 2023.
Although Jones didn’t technically rewrite the record books in Reno, she proved that she has the strength to threaten them at her next international meet.
