The final 2024 Rogue Strongman Invitational event was the Circus Medley, which consisted of overhead presses with a 210-pound kettlebell, a 253-pound Cyrbell, and two axle barbells (375 and 405 pounds).

Defending champion Mitchell Hooper had a near-insurmountable lead. He was locked for the title after the first heat failed to score any points for either Tristain Hoath or Pavlo Kordiyaka.

Luke Stoltman and Mitchell Hooper were the only two athletes to complete event six, but Stoltman was faster, claiming his first Rogue Invitational event win.

2024 Rogue Strongman Invitational Circus Medley Recap

Kordiyaka and Hoath ran the opening heat and struggled significantly with the kettlebell. It was clearly a technique issue as they both hoisted the weight multiple times overhead but failed to lock it out long enough to get the judge’s down signal. Both eventually accepted their fate that they would fail to score a rep.

Thompson and Luke Stoltman ran in heat two. Although they were tentative with the kettlebell, both were successful. Thompson appeared to have elbow issues with the dumbbell while Stoltman advanced to the axle presses. The crowd erupted into a standing ovation as Stoltman became the first strongman to complete the course.

Evans and Ragg competed in the third heat. Evans was having the best contest of his life, clearing the kettlebell and dumbbell with ease. He slipped with the first axle during his lockout and dropped the bar while Ragg struggled with the dumbbell. Evans locked out his second attempt with the first axle before stepping to the final axle with 30 seconds remaining on the clock but did not make an attempt. Ragg conceded before repping the first axle.

Tom Stoltman and Singleton ran the penultimate heat. They were separated by 1.5 points on the leaderboard, and Stoltman needed to overcome the two-point deficit to Björnsson for second place overall.

Singleton blitzed the kettlebell as Stoltman stumbled with the dumbbell. However, the reverse was true on the dumbbell and they approached the first axle together. Stoltman cleared the first axle before Singleton but mistimed his first attempt on the final axle. Stoltman cleaned the final bar but missed two attempts at pressing it overhead. Right before the clock blared Singleton made one more failed attempt and Stoltman waved it off.

Hooper and Björnsson closed out the competition in the final heat. Hooper was already locked for the overall win, but Björnsson needed a good time to fend off Tom Stoltman. Hooper cleared the kettlebell clean but struggled with the dumbbell. Björnsson lifted the kettlebell but couldn’t gain control to get the down command. Once onto the dumbbell, Björnsson showed off his triceps strength.

Hooper cleared the first axle while watching Björnsson do the same shortly thereafter. They lifted the final axle simultaneously, but Hooper locked it out alone to put the stamp on his overall title defense.
