Bodybuilder Matt Greggo’s 2025 Arnold Classic Shredding Diet

The Classic Physique athlete preps through the holiday season.

“I wasn’t going to do the Arnold, then…two days later, I was like, why am I not going to do the Arnold?” The 2024 Classic Physique New York Pro champ Matt Greggo’s coach, Chris Aceto, endorsed Greggo’s decision to contend for the 2025 Arnold Classic (AC) title in Columbus, OH, in early March 2025.

“I’ve made many improvements since the Olympia,” Greggo confirmed. “My legs look good, my back has improved, and it’s what I need to improve the most.”

Greggo qualified for the 2025 Olympia with his New York Pro win, and his 2025 AC application was recently approved. He vlogged his full day of eating during the holiday season during his prep.

Breakfast of Champions

Greggo’s breakfast is a classic example of how to balance macros while keeping it light and digestible.

  • Cream of rice: 100 grams of carbs
  • 50 grams of protein isolate: Muscle recovery and growth
  • 100 grams of blueberries: Antioxidants and a natural sweetener
  • 20 grams of peanut butter: Healthy fat and easy calories

A few hours later, Greggo had a whole-food meal, gradually increasing his portions.

Prep Staple & Training Fuel

“I wasn’t pushing food that hard after the Olympia; just eating lots of snacks.” Greggo jacked up his calories to compensate for his poor post-Olympia habits. These were his next two meals:

  • Meal two: 200 grams of chicken and 200 grams of rice, a staple during prep.
  • Pre-workout: 200 grams of steak paired with 400 grams of rice. Red meat helps power Greggo’s leg days during prep.

“Every leg day of my Olympia prep, I get nervous; it’s super hard and makes me sick,” Greggo shared.

Post-Workout and Evening Nutrition

The post-workout anabolic window is the prime feeding time for muscle gains, though a substantial meal before training is just as key. (1) Greggo sticks to the basics for meal four, with 200 grams of chicken and 300 grams of rice.

Meals 5 & 6

  • Meal five: 250 grams of chicken, 200 grams of rice, and a tablespoon of fat
  • Meal six: 250 grams of chicken and 300 grams of rice

“It’s odd,” Greggo remarked of the extra fat post-training — a rare move by his coach. “Chris doesn’t usually do that, but it’s pretty nice.”

Greggo had his sixth and last meal for the day. We included his supplement regime below:

Supplements For Health & Gains

  • Organ support: N-acetyl-cysteine (NAC), Milk Thistle Extract, Astragalus Extract, and Tauroursodeoxycholic acid (TUDCA).
  • Fish oil and vitamin D3 for heart and general health.
  • Glucose disposal agent: Support metabolism & nutrient uptake — 3x/day
  • Vasolidator for muscle pumps

Greggo raved about the Wrecked Core pre-workout from Huge, a newly launched product, as his “Secret weapon. This shit is next level.” It’s an option for people sensitive to high-stimulant formulas.
