After Lucy Underdown set a new Elephant Bar Deadlift world record in the opening event at the 2025 Arnold Strongwoman Classic (ASWC) in Columbus, OH, it was time to “get to work,” as commentator and former strongman Jerry Pritchett said. The Overhead Gauntlet featured a monster dumbbell press, a natural stone overhead press, and max-rep log lifts.
As with all elite strongman and strongwomen contests, the leader’s advantage was in effect, meaning the athlete with the lowest points on the leaderboard competed before higher-ranked athletes.

2025 ASWC Overhead Gauntlet Recap
Stowers was the first to compete in the event and made quick work of the dumbbell and stone. She failed two attempts with the heavier log and moved to the lighter log to lock in a single rep before the two-minute time cap elapsed.
Belliveau was second to lift and dumped the stone four times, never reaching the logs. Dixson was third to the floor and couldn’t lift the dumbbell.
Murray was fourth to the stage and made fast work on the dumbbell but had balance issues with the stone. With only 45 seconds left, Murray still hadn’t reached the logs. She dropped out after dumping the stone twice.
Peacock cleared the first two implements, but her stone lift was declared failed because she did not drop it back to the pad — she dropped it to the floor. She locked out the stone again but dropped it before receiving the down command from the judge, and it was again declared a missed attempt. After a third miss, Peacock bowed out.
Defending champion Jardine made easy work of the dumbbell and stone and walked directly to the heavier log. She scored a first rep and wobbled with, but ultimately locked out, a second rep. Each rep with the heavier log was worth 10 points.
Carrasquillo appeared to drop the stone on her head but saved the lift to earn the down command. She had 55 seconds left after securing a first lift on the heavier log and failing a second. That was all she could muster.
Roberts cleared the dumbbell after a stumble but dumped the stone on her first attempt. A failed second attempt seemed like Roberts would meet the fate of many of her fellow strongwomen. She was out of fuel on her third stone attempt.
Liashchuck moved much more steadily through the first two implements than her rivals, and it paid off with a minute left to log lift. She matched Carrasquillo’s score and then tied Jardine’s two reps.
Lyle missed her first two attempts with the dumbbell. Her third and fourth attempts weren’t better, and she left the stage without points.
Thompson cleared the dumbbell. She stripped off her elbow sleeve like The Rock doing The People’s Elbow to lift the stone. She locked out a pair of reps to tie for first-place points with only Underdown left.
Underdown missed two dumbbell attempts. Her lead evaporated as she failed to secure any points.
